I know it's a long shot... but Biltong anyone?

A homesick South African.

Saw Kudu biltong in the supermarket under Hertie once but that was a couple of years ago. Dunno if they still stock it.

I'm sure you could order by post over the net though if you're badly stuck.

wowzers, that was a quick response. Cheers keeydeck. I'm not really too botherd about actually getting my hands on any biltong, kudu or otherwise. I was more just playing my evil little mind games to see if anyone here even knew what it was. So where are you from keydeck? Apart from that mysterious land of Noinformation.

OK, let's try again. Pronutro? can youz get that in the super market too?

That's like Mealie meal isn't it. Haven't had much experience on that front. I'm from Ireland but my parents lived in Jo'burg for about 4 years or so. Spent many holidays down there trying to convert locals from Castle to Guinness. Didn't work too well. At least I got agreement that Windhoek is a much better beer than Castle though. Must be the German influence from Namibia. I'll be going back for a visit as soon as I can arrange it. Fantastic country and the exchange rate from here doesn't hurt either biggrin.gif

Welcome to Deutschland.

First question, where can I find good old pork casings, need to make some Boerewors (SA sausage for the barbque). If anyone can help, or even just what this would be called in German it would be of great help.
Thanks

You can buy them from these guys on Wasserburger Landstraße. Not cheap but saves a lot of hassle.
