File recovery software for Mac OS X

I have accidentally deleted something and would really need to recover it. I have googled and followed links but nothing works or will only recover one file in demo mode. Does anyone use or no of a good MAC OSX recovery app that is available over the net.

I'm not familiar with Mac OS X, but I came across PhotoRec some weeks ago and was amazed at how many files it was able to recover (not only picture files as the name would suggest).
