I have been effectively single for about five years (excluding one or two shortlived relationshipettes). In part that was because I always thought I'd be temporarily here in Germany. However, in December it was confirmed that I would be here permanently so I set my mind on putting down roots. First was the flat, now sorted. Next was the partner and the plan was to find a German millionaire with the body of a god and sparkling intelligence . . . . (I may or may not have had unrealistic expectations on that score).
But after five months, I hadn't even had a snog.
Then, a little over a month ago, Monkstown organised an LGBT GBV night out. Now I have had a variable experience of TT events, but the GBV nights out are generally quite good fun. That being said, they are hardly one would expect to meet a life partner. In fact, most times the gay men and women are a tiny minority of those attending. On April 30th, it was no different so I happily and convivially quaffed five Helles expecting very little before . . .
. . . suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, an Australian man in a DB uniform turned up and swept me off my feet.

We had a date the very next night and have been together ever since. I appreciate it is early days by most measures but it just feels so right and I am still in shock.
So thank you TT for unexpectedly coming up trumps!

Just wondering what a DB uniform is? I can only think of Deutsche Bahn.
Congrats nevertheless.

yes, DB= Deutsche Bahn
but it wasn't "uniform drag" . . . he really works for them

It can't just be an Ozzyism because we used that term in the barren wastelands of Wyoming. Well, maybe it's a barren wastelands/outback thing...

That's a shame. i was quietly amusing myself with the though of a TTM event orgainised by Monkstown where you just happened to end up somewhere where all the punters were in Deutsche Bahn uniform drag. Maybe next time ...

It actually sounds like you TTers are an incestuous promiscuous bunch of people. Shouldn't you be spreading the love amongst the locals, you know, in order to infiltrate the Krauts.

I am pleased for you. Having a loving wife has been the most important thing in my life, we met at school, married at 20 and it is our ruby wedding next week. I could never have acheived what I have without her love and support. A good relationship make you stronger as individuals. I wish you every success and happiness.

I've always thought there should be a little dating section on TT - a bit like they have on Gumtree. I'd love to meet the man of my dreams sometime during this lifetime and seeing as I enjoy TT so much, this would be the perfect place!

My husband and I are talking about him getting a vasectomy and neither he or I have ever had any children. After being married to me for so long, he definitely doesn't want another wife in his future.
Btw, I never have MIL issues as my MIL doesn't speak English.

There used to be something where you effectively made yourself available and it had your sexual preference on it, buggered if i can remember where to look for it though.
