Web browser proxy settings automatically changed

Hi,

I am currently running Windows XP German, sometimes I bring my notebook to work and use it in the company Lan. When I do I have reset the proxy address and port on Firefox and IE7 so that i can access the internet. before I shut down I change this back to automatically accessing the internet without specifying a proxy for my home DSL.

However (and this only happens at home, not at work) every 10 minutes or so both Firefox and IE7 reset my proxy settings to my works proxy server without asking me, when I set them back to no proxy, it works for a while then does it again, this makes surfing at home a rather annoying experience as I get the website not available message a lot.

Does anyone know a way to fix this.

Sounds like your admin guys have something running.

Have a look for a tool called ie7prosetup. I uses this to quickly swap proxies.
