I dimly remember reading last year about a beach bar-type place that opens along the Main during the Summer months.
Did I imagine this? Was this just a one-off? Is this a regular feature of Frankfurt in the Summer?
All leads gratefully received.

It is near Offenbach if it is where I think you are talking about.

yes there is, on way to Offenbach I think. It is called Kingka beachclub, quite large and literally in the arse end of nowhere, but worth it when you finally get there ! sponsored by kingka nightclub.

and Galerie Beach Club near the start of hanauerlandstr, right after the railway bridge. The old Galerie club is closed but I think the beach club is still there. Quite funny to see people turn up in boats. It's the Main you muppets, not Miami!

the beach club is good. Not a beach thing in the same way as the kingka one, but the
Long Island Summer Lounge in the city is cool too.

There are quite a few. Another one which I found quite nice we all went to a few years ago back in the good old days. I cannot remember what it was called will need to check with Number 10 or Boogielicious. It wasn't the Kinga or Galerie one though.

If you just mean a bar rather than a club...there is the brazilian Beach Bar on the river bank along near the Main Plaza hotel...

The only vaguely 'real' beach club left in Frankfurt (i.e. not one perched on the 10th floor of a multi-storey car park) is the KingKamehameha Beachclub in Offenbach on the Hafeninsel.
The Galerie Beach Club has unfortunately closed this year, went to check the site out and there is literally a warehouse there now...
Pacha were gonna buy the site and take it over in addition to building a super-club similar to the one in Ibiza, but the land owners changed the terms at the last minute and it all went pete tong

Thanks, everyone, for the info. Looks like King Kamalamawotsits is the place to be, then. Certainly looks fun from the website.
I will report back once I've had first-hand experience of the venue.
Bye for now,

If you don't mind the short trip, there's usually some decent beach bars on the Rhine in Mainz.

Ok...all looks good, want to go out tonight somewhere summery in Frankfurt. Might try the Long Island Lounge (looks pretty smart though - any kind of dress code?) - anyone have any more suggestions for summery places to get a drink within easy reach of the
Hauptbahnhof? Could be beach bar or beer garden type places. Thank you!!

I checked out the KingKamehameha Beachclub in Offenbach earlier this month to see how good it was for my leaving do, and it seemed a very difficult place to get to if you don't have a car. Its quite a cool place though, especially the bit which jutts out into the river and surrounded all three sides with water, but the view of metal container tanks is not that exciting. There's not a lot else around there so once you're there, that's it.
IMHO, Billy

I ended up with visitors in the Long Island Summer Lounge - was an amazing evening! The place is really easy to get to - it's in between Hauptwache and Alter Oper stops. It's a bit strange when you arrive cos there's a ground floor Long Island Lounge but you have to wander into the car park next to that! When you get to the top though the view of the skyline is stunning, there's a couple of paddling pools, lots of comfy seats and good service. It's pretty posh, I enjoyed that but it does mean that it's really expensive - 5€ entry then around 4.50€ for a 0.4l beer. Definitely worth a visit though!

The old Galerie club is closed
Do you happen to know if it is closed just for refurbishment or completely gone? I remember some good memories from there like meeting 'Miss Frankfurt' as well as organising a birthday party for 60 people there once
