Shipping boxes to the U.S. from Wiesbaden Air Base

Can non-military Americans also use this service?

Hi,

I'm an au pair working in Wiesbaden, and I have to move back to California in July (my year is up.).
I've picked up a lot of great things that I'd like to hang onto, but I just can't take it all on the plane.

I was told that one of the former American au pairs had been able to ship her boxes back through the base for a fee that was like shipping within The US.
Au pairs don't make a ton, so saving cash is always nice.

If anyone could give me any info on this it would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

...a friend of mine works on the airbase, I'll ask her and let you know if there's a way.

There is no legal way a non DOD person can use the APO system.
A DOD person caught sending stuff for a non-DOD person can loose their APO access and receive
a severe fine and/or jail time.

But she's a "fellow American" shouldn't we be compelled to help her out huh.gif . (see related Stuttgart thread)

If i were still DOD, I wouldn't.. Its not worth the court martial and penalties.
