ok, i've tried my best but have obvioulsy been mixing with the right (or wrong, depending on your take on things!) crowd so my German slang ain't too hot. Basically a friend of mine is doing a Masters in German translation, and has come up against this sentence...
'When I first found you, you thought a blow job was something a western haridresser did. You thought a dose of the clap was a round of applause at the Bolshoi.'
She just needs a really colloquial word for Geschlechtskrankheiten...any help greatly appreciated. we might all learn something!

would it even translate? Can't imagine the German for "clap" (Klatschen) has anything to do with an STD

Technically yes, but it's got a wider meaning IMHO - most people use it for STDs in general.
