Where to buy scales

E.g. for weighing a suitcase

I'm flying with Ryanair soon so my checked-in baggage can be up to 15kg. I'm not sure whether my suitcase is too heavy so I want to weigh it before I go, rather than pay extra when I get to the airport. Can someone tell me where to buy scales (the type you weigh yourself with, not cake ingredients...) and how much they cost?

Thanks! Leah

I believe it should be easy to find them at any department store, Mediamarkt, and so on.
Prices may vary and I am not well versed on them but I think somewhere from 20,00 EUR and up.

Another way to do so is take them to the gym, where they have scales wink.gif

These scales are called Koffer Waage in German. You can check at Obi or the other Baumarkte or a luggage store.

Thanks for the tips. I went to the MediaMarkt in Alexa last night and bought a set of bog standard arrow-pointing-at-numbers scales for 5,99 euros that will do the job. If anyone's interested, they also have digital scales from 10 euros. Not bad at all.

Why not try going to a shop somewhere? I usually find these are useful places to go when you intend to purchase something. There are quite a few shops in Berlin, some sell bread, some sell computers, not many sell fresh fish. But there will be places that sell scales if you spend an hour or so wandering around and acquainting yourself with your surroundings. Just an idea.
