Changing my name on my German driver's license

What are the fees, and how long does it take?

Hi all,

I will be flying back to get married in Canada this summer, and plan to change my maiden name to my husband's. I currently have a German DL and am wondering about the process and fees and time it takes to get the name on it changed.
I read Maiden name on a driver's license that it's not always necessary to change the name, except with the new Canadian passports I am not allowed to have an amendment in it with my married name. Since Passport Canada states that if I change my name on any documents to change my name in my passport, I'll be getting a new one. To sum things up, other than my birth certificate, there won't be any ID in my maiden name to prove the DL is still mine.

Any thoughts, experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. in Germany you don't *have* to change your driving licence if you change your name but it won't hurt and it is not expensive.
