3 women drown in flash flood in southwestern GermanyQUOTE (Yahoo! News)
A severe storm unleashed heavy rains and flash floods on southwestern Germany overnight, killing three women and injuring more than 10 people, police said Tuesday. A normally quiet stream that runs through the Killertal — which means "killer valley" in German — in the southwestern state of Baden-Wuerttemberg became choked with rainwater and morphed into a raging river on Monday evening

rather fitting name, Killertal.
We have friends who live in Killer. Thankfully their house is up a hill a bit, so they weren't flooded. It was really bad down in the valley.
What was really interesting is that we live up on a plateau and could see lightning and hear the thunder, but the storm mostly passed around us. Was wild sitting out on the terrace just watching the storm surrounding us with jagged lightning bolts lighting up the sky not so far away.
