Hi today I got 100 grams of my favorite tea, in a local shop in Aachen. So I went to prepare the first cup, and for my surprise I found feathers.

Here 2 pictures:

Is it "normal" to find such things, on tea? Seems that it has been for some tine there because it has the aroma of the tea.
I wrote the company to ask about it, I will let you know their replay. Just I think if there are feather, there are can be caca etc.
Thanks we boil the water before having tea eehh wink.gif
Small Town Boy
No, it's not normal. Won't kill you though either.
SpiderPig
Bring a new meaning to the old English Phrase, I'm spitting featheres!!
sarabyrd
It only means that your tea leaves were picked by some Indian bird.

Allershausen
To be honest the rest of that stuff doesn't look like it's ever seen a tea bush either!
Small Town Boy
Disagree, that looks like some tasty darjeeling.
Yasmapaz
Ahaha here the ingredient it should have

Ingredients: Green teas from Japan and China, natural flavor, sunflower, rose and cornflower blossoms.

Thanks for the replay they make me smile... wink.gif
UrbanAngel
Those are great photos! I wish I could take such good quality close-ups smile.gif
Keydeck
Maybe it's Avian Flu Tea

It's weak, I know
GreenTea
I've seen "Flugtee" (possible translation: "flight tea") in the supermarket, and always wondered what it meant. Thanks for clearing up that mystery.

I wouldn't get in a flap about it, though.

Stop stirring.

Stop trying to clip my wings.
Johnny English
I wouldn't worry about it. Whole issue seems like a storm... (god no, even I cannot go through with it).

I cannot go through with it).

You chicken!
Allershausen
He's just a featherweight!
Moonboot
leave it out!
Allershausen
Did you mean leaf it out?
Moonboot
don't strain yourself!
Nicole
Was it the loose tea you measure and scoop into a bag yourself?? Only there are live birds that fly around inside the Real store I go to and it's very possible that the feathers dropped into the tea, along with some lucky bird poop too.

Gives it a bit of extra flavor I guess, think I'll stick to my PG teabags!
crusoe
Pots and kettles, kids. Who has the bird-en of proof here?

don't strain yourself!

ohmy.gif sounds like a good argument brewing here
Yasmapaz
It was loose tea measured and scooped into a bag by a shop worker.

Thanks for developing so interesting discussion wink.gif I love how passionate is everyone.
Allershausen
Oh we're just having fun during our tea break!
Yasmapaz
Yes me too, this tea with a hint of poop is really tasteful wink.gif
Ahahah
Showem
This is really a tempest in a teapot. Take the tea back to where you bought it and tell them what happened. Make sure you get the manager or someone of decent rank. At worst, they will say sorry, at best they might throw some free tea your way.
sarabyrd
That would be a feather in OP's cap!
crusoe
Sounds like her refund is in the bag.
Allershausen
If not feathers may fly.
Punchbear
PG-rated thread alert.
crusoe
So the news is filtering through?
Allershausen
I think it's just coming up to boil.
crusoe
I think people are just spouting off here.
Yasmapaz
I think it should be PG-13 rated just because of the caca and poop words, you never know... ohmy.gif
Fastbucks
Poultry problem really
crusoe
It's a mug's game really.
timezoner
Cha right there wink.gif
crusoe
Cosy thread this, isn't it?
Punchbear

...since she already has a feather in her cup.
Showem
People are really steamed up about this.
timezoner
Yep somebody needs to blow the whistle on this tea shop
Kay
Why? It's all pretty tame, nobody's boiled over yet.
crusoe
Just you wait a cupple of minutes.
Kay
I'll pot the timer on.
Yasmapaz
Yes at the end is just for a cup of tea wink.gif
Maybe as the shop is near this plaza that has pigeons all over, it must be that some how with the air this get inside the tea box, or the tea bag.
Any way the teas from black, fruit and green are amazing, the best I have try.
Kay

Well, that may be chicken feed to you but not to other people.
crusoe
Beak-areful, this is getting too hot to handle.
Kay
I'd better fly the coop then!
