There were some cops stopping cyclists on
Rosenheimerstrasse yesterday. I walked by one dude who seemed to be getting cited for not having a light. I understand not having a light at night as possibly problematic, but what if the guy only cycles during the day? It seems odd to cite for no light during the day, but alas, there's not enough real crime here to keep 'em busy. I suppose that's a good thing.
The cops (not just the cycle stoppers, but also two guys with their Polizei car) also gave some straggly looking fellow the full rundown. They were searching his person and all his belongings. I've never been spot checked by police in Munich except the one time when I was walking with a friend who has long hair. Then they demanded our IDs and called them into the station for checking. Sad really.
