Relocating to Stuttgart with a family

Hi everyone...I know you most likely get this question ALL the time but my husband was offered a job in Stuttgart. We have 3 teenage sons(14,15,16) and have always lived stateside in the US. We are considering the position and move but we are wondering what the cost of renting a place with 3 bedrooms in a good/civil neighborhood would be? Also, what is an average cost of utilities? How does shopping for necessities and stuff compare to California, USA. Last but not least, what are the schools like over there for the kids?

Any assistance with these questions would be greatly appreciated. As you may understand, it is a big step and we want to do what is right for our family.

Hi... you can probably do a search and find most of the answers you need. But curious, are you coming over as civilian or contractor? If so, this will change some of the "answers", i.e. contractors have to pay tuition to attend base schools... military are now being required to live on base...

You should also post this request on "StuttgartNewcomersClub" yahoo group to get a broader spectrum of opinions.
