Hello all,

In November 2007, I found a new job in Wiesbaden. My employer applied work permit for me, and extended my visa till 14, October 2008. Because of some issues, he does not want to hire me anymore. He told me this today, and the contract will end three months later 31, August. Who can tell me, will my visa still be valid from 1 September till 14 October? I am not sure he will inform the Auslandersbehoerede when the contract endts. If he does so, will the consequence be different?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you need to discuss with your employer since it is a visa issue. I guess your visa will end up with your work contract since your visa has been extended, showing your work as a reason, to stay in germany. So, speak to your employer. Then you could proceed to the Auslanderbüro

The visa is tied/conditional to the job. If you quit or are fired, the visa is nolonger valid and you will revert to a Tourist status.
You will need to find a new job By 31 Aug. and get the new company to submit the paperwork for a new work/living permit and/or visa.

But seeing as you do not fall under the visa wavier program, and require a visa even in a tourist status, you need to contact
the KVR or Auslanderamt for more details specific to your nationality and situation.
