Sara, I’m truly sad to hear about Scogs. Meeting the both you at The Twisted during our first year in Germany was the start of many friendships. I always enjoyed meeting with Scogs and being about to talk about theatre and hear the war stories of the glory days of road touring.
Of course Laurel and I are here if you need help with anything.
My Love, hugs and prayers are with you,
Mike

I only met Scogs once, he was a friendly and intelligent companion to watch a soccer match with. However as a member of this board for some time, I know that he was a good friend to many and much loved by Sara. Words (written or spoken) after such a loss seem shallow and empty, but I know that to those that knew and loved the departed, to know that others felt fondly of your loved one is a great consulation. So keep the memorialzations and fond memories coming.
Sara you have my deepest sympathies.

Gosh, Im so sorry. My deepest sympathies. I wish you lots of strength and courage, and that you will eventually remember the good times you obviously had. Not everybody is lucky enough to have that. I will say a prayer for you.

Reading these comments and the wealth of condolence doesn't surprise me. I never met Scogs, but we were swapping e-mails earlier in the year, a few of which were possibly the funniest written words I have ever had the privilege to receive. Sadly, I don't have them anymore, but my heart goes out to you at this time Sara.

I'm sitting in my office hoping no one comes in because I look like crap from all the crying.
I had no idea Scogs was even in the hospital. Sara, you knew he was going and yet you found the time and energy to help me with trivial matters of daily life.
You are a strong, special woman, but remember that you don't always need to be strong. You have enough friends to hold you up if needed.
Scogs really lived life to the fullest, which is what makes it so hard to grasp that he is no longer alive.
The two of you were a rare example of a truly happy couple. I know you will hold onto that forever.

Damm, knowing him he'll be influencing God right now and England shall never again win at Murryfield.
Loses are always sad, but his being here and the pleasure and the love he gave you Sara are the gains we should all be happy about here. I know I am. May he rest in peace but forever live in our memories, and not influence sports events with some after life magic powers.

Oh my goodness, I just came online after a 16 hour break and this is the first topic I see. Quite a shock, and very sad.
I never knew Andrew very well in person, I only met him twice I think. But judging from his many forum posts he seemed to have a lot of fun in life and was a decent chap.
Condolences to you, Sara.

I, as many others, have sadly never had the chance to meet Scogs personally, but on here, TT, we all share some of ourselves, our thoughts, humour and opinions, usernames take shape and become people that we know, appreciate and enjoy seeing (even if only virtually). Scogs, despite never having met him, was somebody I knew..like all of you, somebody who shared a bit of himself on here, who accompanied all of us through little snippets of our days and we him, it's just everyday stuff but it connects us all - like all those times when he was stuck waiting around in airports..we were all waiting with him, and my thoughts are with him today also, as they are with you Sara. I hope you can find some comfort from all the happy memories you both shared at this difficult time. My deepest condolences.

Huge sympathies, Sara.
I'll remember Andrew as someone immensely kind-hearted, fiercely loyal, not intimated by anyone, and never afraid to speak his own mind.
I hope your and other people's fond memories of him will give you comfort and strength in this difficult time.

"I am dying dear God

Every death is an early death

But know this: The life you took

You can keep the change"
C. Sureya - Turkish Poet
Dear Sara,
I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. Just a few days ago, when you sent me a PM mentioning the changes in your life, I did not even think about such a tragic turn of events.
May God (or whatever you chose to believe) give you and your family strength and patience in these hard times.
