Sleepless in MUC
The Bundeswehr BigBand has donated their time and skill and are offering the good folks of Munich a free concert evening of live Big Band music on Monday evening, the 2nd June 2008 on the Odeons Platz area... The music starts um 20:00 until 22:30 or so... But we -(the various Lions Club of Munich- German and English speaking) start setting up the Bier and Sekt stands already earlier in the afternoon um 15:00 - and I heard some of the guys (Yes -the Americans) say to the effect that they will start selling Bier like at 15:00 already...Especially if the weather stays HOT like it has been... So TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS and stop by yourself and have a Bier or 2... and a Wiener or a Grillsemmel and listen, tap your toes and swing a spell.
(What a way to start a work week...eh...?)

The following is what was in the just received email plans (in German) as far as what will be offered:
- 1 Schankanhänger: mit Zapfanlage und Wasseranschluss. Bier, Softdrinks, Prosecco
- 1 Pavillon: alles außer Bier: Softdrinks, Prosecco, Aufstrichbrote

KEEP IN MIND FOLKS - ALL PROCEEDS ARE DONATED TO VARIOUS CHARITY PROJECTS THE MUNICH LIONS CLUBS ARE SUPPORTING...
although there never seems to be enough money to fix everyones problems ...but we keep trying and every little will help... so - KEEP THE FAITH!!!

And see you there... BTW... The Bier is selling for Euro 3.- a glass... with Euro 2.- for Pfand... Maybe, just maybe after your 2nd glass you will just
get into the swing of things and just DONATE the Pfand to the cause...? Now how is that to make things simple...?

Sleepless in MUC
Gosh - that didn't take long... smile.gif

Yes there are a few of us... an American too... but others as well... Swiss, German, Italian etc... we are the Multi-National group...

I think it's t time for a few others to join... so please do stop by the Bier stand and ask for "Captain Morgan" for the English speaking details...

It's (well at least we are) not so stuffy...actually not stuffy at all... which was my first impression in the beginning...too...

SEE YOU THERE...!!!

Just caught the tail end of the concert on my way to the U-Bahn...hadn't realised it was on. They were really good - was a great atmosphere in the square...they were lucky the weather held out too!

Sorry I missed the do, only found out after the event; however I am keen on becoming involved with the Lions, if you could give me some info that would be super.
Cheers
