Cinemas with German films and English subtitles

Anywhere in Berlin that shows movies like this?

foreverescape
Hey everyone,

I have a feeling that the answer may be ´no´ to this but just in case...does anyone know if any of the cinemas here play German films with English subtitles?

Ta in advance
Katchyta
The Central Hackescher Markt sometimes shows German classics with English subtitles, mid-week maybe once a week. They occasionally have other foreign language films with English subtitles. The real resource in Berlin for film buffs is the Arsenal in Potsdamer Platz, but I don't know that German with English subtitles happens there (a lot of other languages with English subtitles do). Other than that, I'd say keep searching the on-line Zitty Kino schedule for the odd original version/subtitle combination, and/or try Negativeland on Danzigerstr. for rentals.

doesnt sound like a major rags to riches successful business Idea, but foreverscape actually just found a "need" in the community. With such a large percentile of Berliners being foreign with english linking them together (some 450K representing over 182 countries) it might be something that could easily be marketed to this niche market.

Anyone know where I can see Die Päpstin with English subtitles?

Why would you want to watch a movie that was dubbed into German with English subtitles? The Cinestar in Sony Center is showing Pope Joan OV.

Oh... I was told it was a German film. Thanks!

No worries. IMDB says it was shot in English. Apparently it's also a remake from 1972.

Not quite. The current film is based on the novel by Donna Cross, published 1996, which is based on the same legend as the earlier film.
