Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding Spa jobs. I am an American licensed Esthetician and am hoping to move back to Berlin at the end of summer. I'd really like to continue working in a spa setting as I recently finished school for Esthetics and it wasnt cheap. If anyone has any info I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Courtney

HEy there-

I don't know how you would go about doing it, (or how your german is) but you might need to find out if your American credentials are accepted in Germany. I have professional hair credentials for Canada (and 12 years experience) but I dont know if I would be able to use that here without sitting for German exams.

If you hear anything tho, do let me know! Might be an alternative to my present work problem! Good luck!

At least in Canada you do if you want a license (and without one, you can't get insurance).

When I did it, it was rather silly, because the entire exam was based on little old lady roller sets from the 70s and that's all the schools trained you to do.

I am pretty sure you need your CIDESCO (International license) in order to practice esthetics in other countries. If you don't do that I am pretty sure you would have to go to school here and get licensed again. Even in the U.S. you can not go from state to state to practice, it's pretty strict. I am licensed in California, but am here in Berlin for a few months visiting. If you were able to get licensed here, you would need to know German for sure! Good luck.
