Info and personal recommendations

Hi All

I have a three year old daughter and 'as an Irish Coleen', would love for her to learn to Irish dance but am having trouble finding a class - either German or English speaking instruction, any advice?

Look here for Irish dance schools Mainland Europe with An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha, sadly there do not appear to be any in Berlin. There are WIDA schools in Europe too but I don't know where they are! We are in Munich and have a very good ID school. Off to Milan this weekend for a feis, were in Salzburg four weeks ago!!
Hope you find something

sorry WIDA link does not seem to work but if you google WIDA you will find it

It's a long time ago - about 2001, I think - but I remember that a crazy old Irishman used to give Irish dancing lessons in the big back room of the Oscar Wilde pub in Friedrichstrasse. Pretty popular, I think. Bear in mind that I believe the pub has changed hands once or twice since then, and maybe it has turned into more of a sports pub, I'm not sure. But if you're in the area - I think the exact address is Friedrichstrasse 111-12, just bfore the right turn into Oranienburgerstrasse - might be worth a try. Its telephone number is 2828166.

Fantastic welshdragon , through the link I found a good school relatively close to where I live, although I will have to wait another few years before my daughter can participate.

Thanks for the tip Jim although it seems the Oscar Wilde is not running them any more - a real pity, would have been a fantastic excuse for a pub outing.

Any other Berliners who may be interested in learning Irish dance, here is the link http://www.tap-connection.de/1110393.htm
