when numbers are enough, we play doubles. If we are 6 then we need to take 2 courts and in one court singles.

Well follks - there are 5 (poss. 7 with Tiff +1) people for 7-8p.m. Shall I just risk it and keep both courts incase they turn up?

Need to know pretty much now - leaving work at 17.00 and will have no computer access after that to check the thread. Need to ring tonite if we want to cancel one court!

I would book 2 courts - we can always have singles on both which would be fun too

First off, I owe someone some money (vamsi, perhaps?). Sorry for dashing off early, but I hadn't anticipated needing a shower and didn't feel like waiting for everyone else to wash up while I stood around enjoying the smell of my own sweat. So, someone please PM me and I'll figure out how to pay for my share of the courts (we pay per point scored, right?).

Second, let no regular badminton player ever suggest that the Hash is too demanding or that it is in any way competitive. Within minutes of singles play I was sweating like a woman in labor. (Mind, in my current state of health, uncorking a particularly stubborn bottle of wine can reduce me to that same condition.) Apologies to all experienced players who were unlucky enough to have partnered with me for the doubles and thanks to all for an enjoying evening.

So that was not a bad start at all. Cheers to everyone. I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did...

u r right..was fun except i see bit of swelling on my foot joint. Hope it is not that bad.

@upquark. - u owe me 13 € for 2 hours.. how would u like to pay to me?

@all Why do you guys play upstairs? I hated the ceeling being that low . Give it a try at the basement floor, it's much better down there. Courts from 30 to 37 are located there. I can join you guys for an hour on Thursday from 19:00 till 20:00 as I have already another game after 20:00.

in the winter there are no courts available downstairs on a thursday
maybe we could ask if we can play downstairs in the summer, it's worth a try.
loking forward to getting my hand back in action and meeting all the new badminton whizzes

Yeah, but I prefer upstairs. Ceilings are a bit higher downstairs but the light is terrible, it smells and was very stuffy! We had some great games though!

Can anybody tell me what's the price and all to play at the courts?

Also, can we play badminton at any parks?? What are the rules as such??

@mg- so what should we do?we are 3 from 7-8 and 5 from 8-9. I talked to umesh and we also decided to join at 8:00 P.M.

So we keep only one court. Last time i asked to change the name to 'Toytown', not sure they did yet.

@munich masala - It costs 6€ per person per hour. U can play in any park, whereever u find some free place.

Glad you made the comment about the "Absolute Beginners" but you are right! It doesn't benefit either group to mix levels!
