No, not a powerhouse kind of player, ...not overly quick either. Humm... what does that make me? Used to play quite a bit but that was long ago.

For the newbies - have you actually been before, or do you just have the directions? It's not easy to find, people have been known to go AWOL for up to 50 minutes trying to find the place... (I just trying to be realistic, not alarmist or anything). Maybe you can meet each other at the tramstop or something, so nobody gets lost or anything...?

@Topsy : Were you able to enquire about another court between 7-8.

I've asked a couple of times, there's only one court available
I'll try to get two courts for next week.

I would be interested in playing as well.

It's been a lot of years since I played, but I've got tomorrow off, so I'd like a game - haven't got a racket anymore though...

take tram 16 or 17 from Sendlingertor or Karlsplatz or Hauptbahnhof direction Romanplatz. get off at Streubenplatz (after Briefzentrum). go right, across traffic lights and past tankstelle, first road on right after that. just 5 mins from tram stop

You have to walk down a lane that looks like it goes nowhere - there's no lighting on the lane, but there are cars parked on either side of it. It's the very first turning after the tankstelle. Go right down to the bottom of the lane and turn left - you'll then see the sports center.

@Topsy: - You make it sound so easy. Knowing my sense of direction and your instructions I will probably end up in Katmandu. .

Can you put me down for the 8-9pm session (as I'm too late for the earlier on)? Does anyone know if you can hire racquets and how much they cost? Otherwise it'll be a quick trip to Sportscheck tomorrow...

if you want to hire a racket, it costs €2.50, plus 10€ or passport for deposit.

i bought my own raquet in Kaufhof for 30€, they have loads in there, and there always on sale by the seems of it. they have a lot, so make sure u have time to play and test them all out. i was pleased with my purchase.

I'd like to do this regularly, so might just get my own racquet anyway...

Be a good way to get some fitness this winter.

@Topsy: As you know I want to play two hours every week. How soon will the courts be booked up for next week.

I already tried booking for next week, but they don't take bookings until the week before (i.e. you can't book for next Thursday until tomorrow).

So I'm gonna set my alarm clock nice and early and try phoning them first thing tomorrow to book 2 or 3 courts from 7pm next week.
But there's no guarantee - maybe some other people have a Dauerbuchung going on, so we'll just have to see. I'll let you all know tomorrow.
