Hi, I've been here for about 4 months, and still looking for a place to play. I used to play a lot in school and am looking for a fairly competitive level, how good are you guys? Most of the people I've seen in my 2 times at Obersendling are far more recreational players. I've been monitoring this thread for a few months, waiting for it to become more popular, like at least 2 courts full. People say badminton gets a bit busier in the winter. I am fairly busy until Christmas so I might have more time in the New Year, so I will try to come out to check out the badminton.

i am not sure we will achieve a 'at least 2 courts full' stage. there are 5 regular players and the rest is come and go.

This Thursday 13.12 we've got 2 courts: 19:15-21:15 , 19:15-20:15.

I might be able to join this Thursday, but I am not sure. Will sign up on the sign-up sheet if/when I can. Thanks for the info.

Those are the best two options. I slightly prefer cancelling because it is a long way to come for just one hour.

Have you closed the reservation with only a few people?

koorosh, we have to close the reservations on wednesdays as we need to call the sports center to cancel any extra courts we booked. otherwise we have to pay for the courts.
but that doesn't mean that depending on numbers, others are not welcome to join us.

Unfortunately I won't be playing badminton for a while. I had a skiing accident just before Christmas and broke my leg. It is pinned together and I can already put some weight on it, but it will take some time before I can do anything like play badminton again.

So you'll have to count me out for a while, unless I get so fed up I decide to come along and hop through the games!

Never attended before, but would keen to participate tomorrow if there will be sufficient vacancies. Would be looking at 8-9 if this is possible.

21 points a game for doubles...blimey...won't get too many games in at that rate!

The game is actually faster...points are given every rally regardless of who's serving. And in doubles...only 1 player serves during each service game...no more 1st serve 2nd serve...

Oh right, in that case things will speed up ...didn't read the whole article! Seems a bit complicated with all the breaks, changing ends etc. mind you...would take a bit of getting used to. Not that I've played for a good while...might try to come along some time for a knock around.
