I have to go to Vienna this week for work and therefore cannot play this Thursday.
So can one of you who has played many times and knows how things work organise the courts instead (that is, call RSC on Wednesday and tell them how many courts are needed and then pay for the courts when arriving to play)?
To be sure of getting the right number of courts, it helps if people sign-up, as sometimes all courts are booked and it is not possible to get an extra court at short notice on Thursday evening.

@nomis,
have fun in Vienna
dont worry, I will sort that out.
Since the weather is not so sunny outside, I feel the courts will be fully booked. So, please sign-up on time.

I really don't know if I can play. I have scraped a load of skin off my leg and it's really effecting my movement, I think its going to be a lot worse when it finally scabs over.

Inflatablewoman that is not an excuse

Hofbrauhaus!
see you next week

4 confirmations. So, 1 court for 2 hrs.
planetmoni
Mar 21 2007, 12:23 pm
are we all up for playing 2hours with just 4? it's expensive and playing the same people for 2 hours... what do you think?

Mar 21 2007, 12:43 pm
Sounds good to me

Mar 21 2007, 12:58 pm
Continuous doubles is OK, continuous singles would be a different matter. Would be good to have one extra person to get some variety/rest & in case someone drops out on the day.

Mar 21 2007, 1:21 pm
Won't be able to make it. Can barely walk at the moment, let alone run around.
So...???
is it a good idea to cancel for this week?
How about we just wait 'til the morning & decide then.

currently we are booked for 7-9.
as PM is interested to play only for 1hrs. so we play for 7-8 or 8-9?

Mar 22 2007, 11:02 am
You normally have to cancel the courts 24hrs before or else pay for them...so it might be a bit late unless they can get rid of them.
planetmoni
Mar 22 2007, 11:36 am
we have cancelled last minute before and i cannot remember paying for a court that hasn't played on.
edit: if we cannot cancel, then i play for 2 hrs, however, i would prefer just 7-8...
MrD
Mar 22 2007, 11:53 am
Four options:
1. Play 7-9 as planned
2. Cancel outright, or just cancel 8-9, right now
3. Roll up as planned, try to cancel 8-9 at the door if no extra bodies show up
4. Roll up, start playing & if folk get tired try to cancel 8-9 half-way through the 7-8 session.
No. 4 is too messy in my opinion, I'm OK with the others.
Place yer bets...

I am doing a German course on Tuesday and Thursday evenings so will miss badminton for a few weeks. Not too many weeks though, as it is already so boring that I am thinking about skipping some of the classes.
Can you organise the badminton yourselves for a few more weeks?
And do you need the shuttles that I have?
The shuttles would be handy. I bought one last week, we can always buy more as necessary but we might as well use the old ones.
And nomis, if the German's boring I'm sure planetmoni could teach you some more interesting - and useful - phrases.

Maybe everyone should join some sports verein for 50euros a year and save a shitlod that way...the one near me is 7euro everytime you go, OR 70euro a year unlimited...AND the ceiling wouldnt stop my amazingly powerful clearances!:)
