I am there with one more person( 2 in total) on sunday.
nomis
I am playing too on Thursday so that makes six people.

I telephoned RSC and told them that we only need one court from 7pm to 9pm.

If the weather is bad again, it is possible to get to/from the sports centre by U-bahn -- Rottkreuzplatz station is only 10-12 minutes on foot from the sports centre (that's what some of us had to do last week when the trams were stopped because of the wind).
planetmoni
fyi, donnersberger bruecke is the same distance.
Topsy
I'm really sorry, but I have to cancel.
Got loads of work on sad.gif

but you are still 5 people on one court, so I guess it is OK.
planetmoni
who is playing this week?
nomis
So there are nine people for 7-8pm and ten for 8-9pm.

I telephoned RSC and told them that for this Thursday two courts are needed from 7-9pm.

I have not signed up myself this week. I am trying to avoid going on a work trip on Thursday. I will post again tonight when I know if I have to go or not...
nomis
I have to go to Landshut tomorrow so I cannot play. sad.gif

As I usually pay for the courts before we start, can one of the other regular players please pay instead this week (there are *lots* of people playing this week so the courts will cost a total of 100 euros).
MrD
I'll volunteer to pay for the courts.
However, if anyone who's coming is a member of the RSC, could you take on the job instead please as it'd save us a few bob.
nomis
Eight people this week so I telephoned RSC and told them that we will be needing two courts this Thursday.
jono
Hi,

I'm sorry to do this but I am feeling very ropey today so will not be able to make it tonight.
Sorry for the late notice.

Jono
planetmoni
who else is coming?
nomis
Lots of people. Nine for the first hour and eleven for the second hour.

That means, we will be playing on two courts for the first hour and three courts for the second hour.
Pirulero
Hoe does it work with shuttlecks and that? I don't have any...
planetmoni
just bring yourself and the racket
nomis
@pirulero
I have some shuttles.

We will be playing on two of the four courts upstairs, on the first floor. Changing rooms are also on the first floor.

Nine of us are playing at 7pm so we will be easy to spot.
madgibson
I've been thinking about a possible return to badminton...it's time to fight the flab! Any other "ex-regulars" (Anemone, Asq etc) out there want to return to the scene? I see Colin is still playing and P Pitstop makes the occasional appearance...what happened to all the Indians...did they leave town? I shall aim for next week...bit rusty now though so be gentle with me!
nomis
I called RSC and told them that for this Thursday we need two courts from 7pm to 8pm and one court from 8pm to 9pm.
madgibson
Everyone apart from me is signed up for 2hrs i.e. 6 people playing for the second hour - won't you still need the 2 courts? Otherwise 2 people are always hanging around waiting to play!
Topsy
hmmm - tend to agree with madgibbers, tbh
i will drop out, i don't fancy sitting around for half the time
so now you are 6 on 2 courts, 5 on 1 court - enough for a good workout in the first hour and the occasional bit of taking it easy in the second
nomis

... or sitting down having a rest because two hours of constant playing is hard work. smile.gif

And we are sometimes fortunate enough to have a vacant court next to us (with the lights off though) that can be used for a hit-around between games. However, in recent weeks every court has been in use all the time.
planetmoni
and we have had comments regarding the costs regarding one extra court...
difficult to please everyone i guess.
i am happy with whatever nomis booked.
nomis
There are six people signed up for 7-8pm and six for 8-9pm.

With six people I am not sure if one or two courts works best.

So, I called RSC and told them we need one court from 7-8pm and two courts from 8-9pm.
planetmoni
nomis, two courts for 2nd hour is good. penelope pitstop is taking my 7-8 spot and i would like to play from 8-9.
see you all tomorrow

nomis
I telephoned RSC and told them that we will need two courts from 7-9pm for this Thursday.

planetmoni

nomis
I telephoned RSC and told them that for this Thursday we need one court from 7-8pm and two courts from 8-9pm.

We will be playing on the courts upstairs on the first floor -- the same ones that we always play on.
planetmoni
would you mind doing 2 courts for the first hour? i am not keen in sitting out in both hours as we are always too many?
nomis
Okay, I changed our booking. Now we have two courts from 7-9pm.
ume
I forgot to sign up but I will be coming as usual.

Hello I am a new member to Toytown, I played Badminton a long time ago and really enjoyed it,
would love to come along soon, can't make the next two Thursdays, but will aim for the 29 March, do you run the club all through the year?
Janner
planetmoni
yes, we are playing every thursday throughout the year. on the top of the thread, you will find the sign up list. we indicate whether we are playing 1 or 2 hours in order to reserve the right number of courts.
newbies are welcome!
Pirulero
Anyone wanna play some hardcore singles on Sunday from 5? Might be a bit hard with the crap roof in the place but still, After starting again after 7 years without playing I now havent played for a few weeks and want to catch up...
butler_helen

planetmoni

I'll play you at singles. Any chance you can play during the week? Say like a Monday night? Sundays are Rugby and Frizbee days, no way I can do hardcore badminton when I should be in a beer garden.
planetmoni
court 38-40...

p.s. this is a really long thread for badminton!!! cool.gif

indeed that is quite possible... I have the memory of a fish, so don't be surprised if I have forgotten it by this evening (even if I write it down!).
