I am playing too on Thursday so that makes six people.
I telephoned RSC and told them that we only need one court from 7pm to 9pm.
If the weather is bad again, it is possible to get to/from the sports centre by U-bahn -- Rottkreuzplatz station is only 10-12 minutes on foot from the sports centre (that's what some of us had to do last week when the trams were stopped because of the wind).

I'm really sorry, but I have to cancel.
Got loads of work on

but you are still 5 people on one court, so I guess it is OK.

who is playing this week?

So there are nine people for 7-8pm and ten for 8-9pm.
I telephoned RSC and told them that for this Thursday two courts are needed from 7-9pm.
I have not signed up myself this week. I am trying to avoid going on a work trip on Thursday. I will post again tonight when I know if I have to go or not...

I have to go to Landshut tomorrow so I cannot play.

As I usually pay for the courts before we start, can one of the other regular players please pay instead this week (there are *lots* of people playing this week so the courts will cost a total of 100 euros).
I'll volunteer to pay for the courts.
However, if anyone who's coming is a member of the RSC, could you take on the job instead please as it'd save us a few bob.

Eight people this week so I telephoned RSC and told them that we will be needing two courts this Thursday.
Hi,
I'm sorry to do this but I am feeling very ropey today so will not be able to make it tonight.
Sorry for the late notice.

Lots of people. Nine for the first hour and eleven for the second hour.
That means, we will be playing on two courts for the first hour and three courts for the second hour.

@pirulero
I have some shuttles.
We will be playing on two of the four courts upstairs, on the first floor. Changing rooms are also on the first floor.
Nine of us are playing at 7pm so we will be easy to spot.

I've been thinking about a possible return to badminton...it's time to fight the flab! Any other "ex-regulars" (Anemone, Asq etc) out there want to return to the scene? I see Colin is still playing and P Pitstop makes the occasional appearance...what happened to all the Indians...did they leave town? I shall aim for next week...bit rusty now though so be gentle with me!

Everyone apart from me is signed up for 2hrs i.e. 6 people playing for the second hour - won't you still need the 2 courts? Otherwise 2 people are always hanging around waiting to play!
Topsy
Feb 21 2007, 8:41 pm
hmmm - tend to agree with madgibbers, tbh
i will drop out, i don't fancy sitting around for half the time
so now you are 6 on 2 courts, 5 on 1 court - enough for a good workout in the first hour and the occasional bit of taking it easy in the second

... or sitting down having a rest because two hours of constant playing is hard work.

And we are sometimes fortunate enough to have a vacant court next to us (with the lights off though) that can be used for a hit-around between games. However, in recent weeks every court has been in use all the time.

Feb 22 2007, 10:04 am
and we have had comments regarding the costs regarding one extra court...
difficult to please everyone i guess.
i am happy with whatever nomis booked.

There are six people signed up for 7-8pm and six for 8-9pm.
With six people I am not sure if one or two courts works best.
So, I called RSC and told them we need one court from 7-8pm and two courts from 8-9pm.

nomis, two courts for 2nd hour is good. penelope pitstop is taking my 7-8 spot and i would like to play from 8-9.

I'll play you at singles. Any chance you can play during the week? Say like a Monday night? Sundays are Rugby and Frizbee days, no way I can do hardcore badminton when I should be in a beer garden.
