There is a bunch of us who play badminton on Sundays, 4-6pm in the RSC in Munich-Nymphenburg (directions below).

The Fitness Factory / Racket Sports Club (RSC) is the badminton center near the Hirschgarten.

Public means of transport: Tram 16/17 Steubenplatz. Get off at Steubenplatz and walk up Wilhelm-Hale-Str., first right after the Tankstelle (there's a sign pointing you there - it's a lane usually lined with parked cars with tall hedges on either side).

The tram takes about 10 minutes from Hauptbahnhof, and they run about every 5 minutes on the way there. It'll take you about 5 minutes to walk from the tramstop to the place.

All are welcome to come along, male or female and any ability. See you there!

Or better if we can reserve for couple of weeks in advance.
Or an email reminder.
Or at least a SMS message.
may be we should add a repeat reminder to register in our mobile phones.

I know nobody will do it. too much work. So, we will all do it tomorrow after the game.

Sorry, but I am going to have to drop out of badminton tonight. I have manged to hurt my leg by falling on my ass.

Dear Topsy, thankyou for the invitation to join the Badminton group. But I guess I would have get the racket before I drop in. Are there any guidelines for the newbies, like is there any dress code for example. And I have played this sport very casually and my skills may not be upto the mark.

you can hire a raquet there, no problem
just wear sports clothes, anything you fancy really - it doesn't have to be anything snazzy (i usually wear sweatpants and an old windows 98 t-shirt, if that's any guide)

some people are really good, some of us are not quite so good
none of us is professional standard, though, so i wouldn't worry too much (as long as you're not a total beginner)

Is this open to all skill levels - I haven't picked up my racket in about 7 years and wasn't much good then!

(I am getting hitched in 4 months and desperately need to lose a stone in weight and need the (indoor) excercise...)

Yeah come alone, I havent played for ooh 9/10 years now and am going along tonight for the first time. Used to love playing badminton so gonna give it ago.

(Congratulations on thw wedding, I also need to lose hopefully a stone by end march for my sisters wedding, we can push each other to lose the weight for the weddings )
