Court bookings are done. 3 from 7 till 8 and 4 from 8 till 9. But unfortunately 1 court from 8 to 9 is downstairs.. we will see when we are there.

My bandage still on. I was in hospital yesterday and still had some pain, so he said i have to go for another scanning tomorrow and then examined. Hopefully they dont find any minor fracture.

Hi guys - me again!

Ok - I have reserved extra courts. From 7-8 there are 3 courts(38,39 & 41). Should be 11 people according to reservation list. From 8-9 we have all 4 courts in the upstairs hall(15 people with a possible +1 ).

P.S. Is there anyone who works for O2 who can get the discount as Ume and Vamsi won't be there this week! Someone else will have to pay at 7.00p.m.

Here are some official rules regarding Badminton.

One rule I found interesting is that only part of both of your feet have to be on the playing surface during a serve. So Inflatable woman can have part of his feet off the court. I hope I read it correctly

Only if those part of his feet that are on or over the boundary lines aren't touching the ground!

Law 9.1.3 does state that "some part of both feet of the server and receiver shall remain in contact with the surface of the court in a stationary position from the start of the service (Law 9.4) until the service is delivered (Law 9.5)".

However, law 9.1.2 states that "the server and receiver shall stand within diagonally opposite service courts without touching the boundary lines of these service courts".

So I guess law 9.1.3 is meant primarily to stop people serving on one leg, or jumping (like in tennis), hopping, levitating, or whatever. But you still have to have both feet within the boundary lines (at least those parts of your feet that are touching the ground).

The link also helps clear up some other points on (il)legal serves (no serving above the waist, service delivery starts on the first forward motion of the head of the racquet, the whole of the head of the racquet must be below the whole of the hand holding the racquet, no undue delay on serving, etc.). So thanks for that!

so you don't have to stand in the non-server's court, you can straddle the center line at the back
