My daughter 12 years old, would like to travel to US.
She holds an Indian psaaport and residing in Germany since 7 years.
Does anybody know whether she has to appear personally
to the consulate for visitor visa?
Darkknight
Visa or not, if she's 12 years old, she can't travel by herself and will be refused entry to the US
if not at the Airport in Germany.

Surely she can travel as an unaccomponied minor. Kids can fly on their own over the age of somewhere around 6, the airlines have special arrangements for this. Or are you saying that you have to be above a certain age just to enter the states, which I find hard to believe.
Darkknight
OP didn't mention anything about a relative in the US. Only that the 12yo wanted to goto the US.
Yes, unaccompanied minors, are nothing new, but if there is no one to meet them on the other side
things can (and do) get rather bad quickly.

A 12yo that wants to just goto the US by herself will be denied entry, seeing as there will be no
airline rep. with the unaccompanied minor, to get them thru immigration and customs.

How likely is it that someone would just send their 12 year old to the States with nobody there to meet them?

Thanks for the replies, but thats not the answer to my question.
She is going to spend her time in US with her Uncles family.

Why not call or e-mail the US consulate for the most up to date info? As with everything, TT can't guarantee the most up to date or correct info.
