Hi,
I am moving over to Schwenningen soon because my boyfriend is playing hockey there this season. I am wondering if any Americans/Canadians or english speaking people are living in the area and could tell me a little about it. I had a bad experience last year in Sweden and am a little nervous about the move. I am also wondering if there are any jobs in the area. I have a degree in Elementary Education, but would love to do pretty much anything to get involved and meet people. Thanks for all the help!!

When I lived there (many years ago) there was a British International club that my parents used to go to.
It wasn't just for British people, there were a good few Americans and some Germans who just wanted to practice their English.
Couldn't say whether it's still going but there are definitely still English-speakers in the area.
I really enjoyed living there. It's a lovely part of the country.

Good luck to your boyfriend too! I used to be a regular at the ice hockey - the wild wings were in the top division back then. Didn't do too badly last season either!

Edit: Just googled it and found a website http://bivs.gmxhome.de/ You could send them an e-mail to see if they still meet up.
