African Festival Würzburg

Hi all,

Its a bit last minute but I just thought I'd check if anyone is going to or would like to go to this festival (you can go the whole weekend or just one or two days). It's the biggest African music festival in Europe and many amazing and well known musicians and bands will be playing all genres of African music, from traditional-tribal to reggae to cuban even. Of course there will be other things going on throughout the day - good food, drink, stuff for kids, shopping, cultural expos, etc.

I'm thinking of going tommorow for 1 or 2 nights. PM me if interested, or reply here with other info about it!

Just back from this now. Thanks for the recomendation! Highly recommend this to anyone who is unsure of what to do with their sunday! The day ticket is only 5 euro.

Hi Mauddib and FrogGirl, thanks for the recommendatons! I'm going to check it out to-day with some friends from Heidelberg, and I must admit the program does look good!

It really is good. Hang out under the bridge there where the impromptu sessions are. The food is great, I recommend the grilled fish.

The day ticket is 5 euro and its not packed or anything. We didnt go to the night gigs which cost 33 euro. The day was good enough and goes on till 3am if you so wish.
