Tri-lingual Canadian/Brit needs work in Karlsruhe - Germany

Just arrived! Any suggestions?
Cocolino
Hello there!

I just arrived in Karlsruhe together with my 12 year old son and am looking for temporary employment while searching for a more career-oriented position in IT/Telecommunications Project Management.

I speak German and Spanish with near fluency and have experience in Management Recruitment, Personal Finance and as a teacher/administrator in Hotel Management colleges in Switzerland.

I would be interested in any position where my languages and skills could be put to use for the next few months.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Also, my son is bi-lingual (English/German) and a very kind little soul. It would be fantastic if someone knew other English-speaking kids in the Karlsruhe area (we are in Heide) who would like to meet a real Boy-Scout just in from Canada!

Thanks for reading!

Coulton.

Hi, if you fancy teaching english as a foreign language and have a degree or teaching - linguistics experience -you should go into Wall Street Institute- they are a great private language school to work for - they are the only ones to offer a contract and pay your health insurance. Bubbles

I know someone who might be interested in working for The Wallstreet Institute. He is a native speaker and has a little bit of teaching experience. May I ask what kind of salary they offer. A rough figure would be enough in case you don't want to go into details.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I do have teaching experience and have been Director of Hotel Management colleges in Switzerland.

I applied to WSI last week and received their rejection letter this morning. :-(

If at first you don't succeed... try, try again.

I noticed yesterday that they desperately need someone to pick up garbage around the Schloss...

You definitely need to check out the American Libarary, just around the corner from you on Kanalweg (www.americanlibrary.de) -
If you are just in it for the experience until you get a real job, I would suggest trying a temp agency like Randstad or Manpower - the jobs sometimes lead to permanent jobs and they also do recruiting
