I'd quite like to take up jujitsu. I live between Pasing and Obermenzing, but at the moment hardly speak any German. Any suggestions for a club I might try?
Shane.

I wouldn't worry about speaking German too much. When I did Kung Fu, you pretty much just followed along with what the instructor did, or the rest of the class. You might miss some of the esoteric aspects would be the only thing.
Sorry, I don't know of any Jujitsu clubs around, there is a lot more of other martial arts like Judo, Kung Fu, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Aikido.

an acquaintence of mine does jujitsu at the volkshochschule. he's been doing it now over a year. he likes it a lot. he's already in his 40's, but that doesn't stop him from being a bit violent.

I have two Spanish friends who are taking jujitsu (I can't spell that...) classes at the Bayerische Police headquarters near Karl Preiss platz. From what they said, its dirt cheap, instruction is good and you also get to use the gym and pool as well...I'll get more info from them.

Sounds very interesting. Look forward to hearing some more info. Karlzplatz is about 30 minutes away by the S-Bahn, so not too far. Thanks.
Kind Regards,
Shane.

That's "Karl-Preis-Platz", not Karlsplatz/Stacchus. Karl-Preis-Platz is in the southeast of Munich, on the U2 line.

Let me know how it goes. I use to do Jujitsu a while back but after a few injuries I decide to put a halt to it.

Ok. Here's the info/low down:
Jujitsu
Class Times: Tues/Wed 7-9pm and Fri 5-6:30/6:30-8pm
Level: All
Price: 10€ per month
Location: Bayern Police Headquarters (SW corner Claudius-Keller Strasse/Rosenheimer Strasse)...shown on hot-maps.de.
Closest UBahn: Karl-Preiss Platz U2
These classes are open to anybody in the general public. Just show up 10mins before the class starts (without any 'good' stuff or firearms in your possession). You must check-in at the main gate (and leave some type of identification with them). The sport complex is on the far-right after you walk through the front gate. You can get a 6week trial card for free from the instructor...and this really allows you to use all facilities free for that time period (i.e. pool, weights, basketball, etc.) For more info PM me.

This Jujitsu lark sounds pretty good. 10euros for the month including use of the sports facilities? Has anyone tried it out? I'm thinking about it.
