Hi All!

I've arrived, I've found a very cool pad (I'm over by Schloss Charlottenburg off the Spandauer Damm- I know it's not a swinging neighborhood, but my new maisonette is absolutely darling.

In return for a free month's rent, I'm painting the place (needs it very badly) and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place in charlottenberg (or anywhere dashing distance of a U/S bahn where I could buy paint cheaply?

Any help would be grand. The person who was in there before just trashed the place.

Or any one of the hundred local/private paint stores...

Whatever you buy make sure the paint is "Gut deckend" which means you need less coats of paint.

Cheap paint usually doesent cut it(except from Aldi, serious).

Have fun;-)

You will find that cheap paint will spray all over and that you have to paint at least twice with it.Good paint should cost you at least € 35 a bucket with about 10 litres of it.Mixed with 5% water will make it a lot more pliable but not affect the paints abilities.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it! Sorry.. when I said cheaply, I didnt exactly mean cheap paint- I don't want to do 80K coats... I was hoping to not spend the earth for my rollers and other toys.

But I really appreciate the help with places to buy paint! Thanks!!!

Go to a flea market and buy old rollers. They work the best believe me. Raggedy pure cotton ones and not the foam jobbies. You will need two; one for trim and one for the rest. The trim one should have about a two foot handle and the roller part should be about 4 inches long.
