Is there any place to buy computer software in English in Berlin? I am looking for Windows XP Home Edition and McAfee Anti-virus. Thank you.

Nope... And XP Pro is being EOL'ed (End of Lifed) and will become even harder to get after June 30th.

Your best bet is to look on Ebay, or order it from the an online shop in the US. With the exchange
rate you'll even get a better deal.

Yeah, I'd say just download the stuff from online. You should be able to purchase it from a place like www.tigerdirect.com or www.newegg.com. If you can't get what you want from those places, then you may want to try looking at Microsoft's website and MacAfee's website.

Completly agree - buy what you want online - there's no need to go to the high street for any software. However do NOT go near EBay for software - you have no idea if what you are getting is not pirated, and you have absolutely no warranty in general. Go to the web site of the software publisher, or one of the major online software distributors.

Even better, just download Linux and you won't need to bother with the anti-virus stuff either!

Yo buy Windows Xp from amazon UK Amazon Windows Xp and for a virus scanner, the best one and its free is Avast from Avast antivirus software

Or there is always the "not quite legal" option of downloading it as a torrent from a various number of websites...not that I would recommend doing something like that

As long as your PC has a Windows COA sticker on it (Valid license) it doesn't matter where you get the install media from.
You can download XP and Vista direct from MS if you so choose. It will be a 30-120 trial version, but it can be activated and
ugraded to a full license once you enter/buy a valid key.
