Hi
I have now returned to England but I continue to buy goods in Germany
I just ordered and received a cycling rickshaw/buggy from a company near Leipzig in Germany, and the item has broken plastic windows.
I called the supplier and they are asked for pictures of the damage. I sent them a photo of the holes in the buggy and a photo of the box the goods came in which shows that the holes do not match the little damage done to the cardboard packaging
The response from the supplier was I should not have signed for a damaged carton and I could fix the windows with some tape given the goods may have been damaged in transit or by myself or my wife opening the box.
I know the supplier has a term on its website which says that you can return goods in 14 days without reason BUT "if the article is in a worse condition than at the time of delivery they have the right to demand compensation"
Iam unhappy with their reply as the box is not damaged where the goods are and I think the goods could have been crammed into the box along with some extra wheels I ordered causing the damage prior to shipping.
So I have asked them via mail to pickup the damaged goods at the same time they replace or I will just send the goods back.
I have not heard from them in 48 hours and I want to know what my options are i.e. can I just send the goods back and insist they do not deduct money from my credit note or am I stuck with goods because I signed for a damaged carton?
regards
Geoff
