Hey there!
Do any of you know how it works, when you need to see a doctor, but you don't have any money at all? And if you need some medecin and get a perscription.
At the moment I am totally broke, but I need to see a doctor this afternoon. Would they accept if I asked to pay the fee in the end of the month? And what do you think about the Apotheke? Do you think they would give a "credit" for 14 days?
Edit: Hmm, i just updated, and i saw that the topic was changed. I do have insurance (The EU citizen card), so I am insured, I just don't have the funds yet. =/

They will most likely bill you, and you could really stretch that out, a few months if necessary even though you'd have to pay some late fees.

the office would bill you, but usually takes about a month to so to get a bill, I just got a bill from last september in the mail yesterday.

For last september? Are they so slow? But that's great, then i don't have to be afraid of standing there without money, sweating because i ask for what's impossible. =)
Is it the same with the apotheke? Will they send a bill to? Or do the doctor take care of that as well?

prescriptions have to be paid for at the time you pick them up, but maybe the doc will have a sample for you. Or see if they take credit card.

Most pharmacies do not take credit cards anymore. It's cash or EC card.
As far as the doctor goes, you should just get a bill. If you tell them you are not insured, then maybe they would ask you to pay up front. But, as I have private insurance, they bill me and then I submit my bill to the insurance company, wait for the money and then pay the doctor.

Would you think of boarding public transport and paying first when you arrive?I think not.

Would you think of eating in a restaurant and paying first when you've eaten? Oh yeh, you would. These are two different things, and I've never paid cash at a doctors surgery. I've also never been uninsured, so I don't know, maybe if you tell them that they will ask for the money up front but either way your analogy is flawed.

The docs will definitely have samples for you. Beg and beg some more. I went in just for a refill and they wanted €10 for the refill visit. I raised hell until they gave me €10 worth of samples of my prescription. I normally wouldn't do that, but this was a prescription for three months that had to be refilled and didn't require testing for 6 months. It was not a "doctor's visit" by any definition of the term other than the German one.

Mik Dickinson: No, but if I knew that the doctor would be free, or that they would give me a bill if I couldn't pay, I would go by public transportation back and forth, without paying (since I didn't have any money), and then, when I got the money, go to the nearest ticket vending mashine, but a ticket worth of the trip I made "for free", tear it in parts and go home.
But since I buy a
isarcard every month when I get my salary, I don't have to "schwarzfahren" (I think thats the correct spelling of the german word, correct me if i'm wrong. I don't know the english word). And maybe that you (and possible others), won't belive me, but I actually would go buy that ticket afterwards if i didn't already had a isarcard.
