Hi,
Can I use a Postbank EC card with the Maestro symbol to withdraw cash at the ATM machines in the US?
Or do I need a card with the Plus symbol?
Thanks.

I don't think Postbank has anything to do with it, really, only the Maestro symbol. My fiance was able to use his EC card with a Maestro symbol from Foerde Sparkasse while in the US. It's best to check with your bank beforehand anyway.

you should be ok with a Maestro card. Does it also have the Cirrus logo on it?
btw, Plus is from VISA whereas Maestro and Cirrus are both MasterCard.

I went back to the US for Christmas and was able to use my Postbank card (Maestro) in all ATM's- had to pay a service charge of $1, but had no problems whatsoever!

Yes. My Maestro card works just fine over there.

OK thanks.
I have used my Maestro card in US ATMs with mixed success.
At the ATMs within my employer's offices it works fine.
It usually works within supermarkets in shopping malls.
I have had it fail at a bank's ATM in same shopping mall; also at an ATM within a shopping mall but not inside a supermarket.
