Dear All,
I’m evaluating the opportunity to move in Munich from Italy.
I have an offer of about 65K E/year for a company near Munich.
The company works in aerospace industry.
I would like having some feedback about this offer.
I’m an engineer with about 10 years of experience in avionics field, married with no child and my wife doesn’t work.

I really have no idea about living costs in Germany.
Any suggestion will be really appreciate (where to go to live- in Munich, in the surrounded area-, consideration about my salary offer and so on).
Thank you very much for your help.
Bye

Where do you live in Italy? It will give an idea of how the place where you live compares to Munich.

I live in a small town in the north of Italy, near Milan. It is a turistic town on the "Lago Maggiore" lake.

Bolzano ???

That's a nice salary to support two people. You could probably find yourself a 1000 Euro per month apartment and live quite comfortably. A word of warning though. It's hard to find apartments here unless you get help or can speak pretty good German. Good luck.

cat,
thank you for your info.
Does Someone can suggest me a nice area/district where look for a house - or maybe a town/village in the area of Munich. My company is located near the MUC Airport.
I know thaat it will be hard with the language. We don't speak German at all (at the job fortunately English is the spoken language - even if it is not so easy for me!).
I'll look for someone that can help me with language

Mik,
no, it is not Bolzano. It is near NOVARA.

There are a number of informative threads on Munich neighbourhoods, e.g. Choosing which Munich district to live in. You'll find a few other crosslinks in it, otherwise use the search function (top right corner) - just type in "neighbourhoods", "districts", etc. and read the relevant threads. They should at least help you get an idea.

In bocca al lupo!

What do u think about the idea of stay in Erding? Is it a nice place? It is quite close to the place where I'll work.

Munich is incomparable.

Well said.

Erding is nice, especially if it's close to where you'll live. It's still on the S-Bahn, is quite rural but still with nice bars and restaurants.
