Restaurants to take the boss to in Mannheim - Germany

Suggested places good for a business dinner
JodieJo
Hi All,

At work i have been given the task of booking a restaurant, for myself, my boss and another person from a external company. I've been told the company will be paying so money is not a problem.

My problems are:
  • it has to be within the quadrats of mannheim
  • open on a monday night
  • not too busy as we will be talking business
  • my boss is a fussy eater, so not too fancy food, no seafood and not spicey
If anyone has any suggestion please please. post them or PM me, as i really need to book it this week if possible.

Thanks

Jodiejo

Someone told me about a place called C-Five. Fancy, sure. I understand there is a lounge next to it (which belongs to them too) which is not as expensive as the restaurant seating, but also belongs to them. I have spoken to two people recently who recommended it.

I recently ate at Koi, but that is "lounging around" (sitting with your feet stretched out) seating and a fixed, pretty fancy menu. I might go there again on special occasional, but for normal dining, nope, no way. Too pricey (10 courses, 49 Euro + drinks). There is a club downstairs, which is not too bad. Very chic, but music was good.

There is a nice restaurant (not fancy, just nice) called Maredo just down the street from the water tower. It has a variety of food, including a really nice salad bar. Steaks, italian, chicken, etc.. all kinds. My hubby and I love it. smile.gif Not terribly pricey unless you're drinking a lot. Parking garage right across the street. I believe they have a website you can google. Good luck!

thanks for the info, i have looked at C-Five but boss was not too happy with the menu.

Has anyone been to Dionysos a greek restaurant in N2?

why doesn't your boss find his own restaurant? or are you his admin assistant, in which case I will tell you Dionysos probably is pretty standard, Greek food (boring). Most of the places I have eaten in in the quadrats are rather loud (Binokel, Barrios, Palms). I had dinner at a decent Italian place, the corner of Friedrichsring and Freßgasse (across from taxi stand) called Freck's I think. Get a table in back for a bit of solitude.

lol My Boss is a woman smile.gif She's asked me to do it as she's rarely in Germany at the moment, plus its a pre-meeting for my event the next day.

i thought Greek food might be good as its fairly plain, thought even a fussy person would eat it. why can't there be more people like me here, will eat everything apart from the Devils Veg (Brussel Sprouts)

you're right about that with Greek food. do you have the Espresso (restaurant recommendations for Rhein Neckar triangle)? they have good restaurant recommendations. I have one at home.
such fussy eaters are missing out on some great cuisine. i was gonna recommend Supan... pad thai is not spicy, but Thai food in general is and I LOVE IT. yummmmm.. (i also like brussel sprouts when they are cooked properly, otherwise too bitter. ugh.)

we were at dionysus a couple years ago - it was pretty good as far as restaurants in germany go. i don't remember it being loud and i liked it more than other greek restaurants i've been to in mannheim. that's probably not very helpful but if your boss likes greek food, you should be okay.
