what do you mean "may"?
i thought you were firmly booked in a team for tonight, BR...
SleeplessInMunich
Nov 14 2005, 11:15 am
Aye, I heard you were going to be there. And with a fairly good team...but I'm going to get Topsy sloshed beforehand so she won't remember a thing for the quiz...
Topsy
Nov 14 2005, 11:19 am
I never get sloshed on a Monday - not until after the quiz, anyway

Course I'm deffo booked and honoured to be so. What time does the warm up start? (tight schedule this evening)
QUOTE
And with a fairly good team
I'll put a stop to that
Topsy
Nov 14 2005, 11:24 am
well, it's kind of packed, but i'm sure we'll be able to organise an introduction or two

and it's not like it's a huge place, or anything
the quiz starts at 8pm, but i guess i'll be there by 7.30pm at the very latest
boomtown_rat
Nov 14 2005, 11:28 am

if we go, I am steering clearing of Topsy. Bad influence, that one. I felt quite "unwell" last Tuesday.

I'm not a bad influence

It's everybody else who is a bad influence on me!

SleeplessInMunich
Nov 14 2005, 1:03 pm
Ah sorry Yeti, you can just watch TV...
@katrina, I like the name...Paddywagon...we might just use that, eh guys?
Hazza
Nov 14 2005, 1:05 pm
I'm not working tonight...So I can play!! It's been a while.
And no - Dr Matt doesn't tell me the questions (or answers) beforehand
Yeti
Nov 14 2005, 1:20 pm
"Paddywagon" ? Better than "Lonely lovely leprechaun lickers of Leitrim" or "Big Tom's Bodyguards".
Or "The Mammy wouldn't like it" because she wouldn't you know.
More tea, Vicar?

If I get out of work we can be team mates, K. I'm dull as dishwater.

Katrina
Nov 14 2005, 3:13 pm
Good! MTV to us then - yay!
pootle will also be on the team so I was thinking of a teamname like "at least his head can be fixed" or something...
My alternative names for de Oirish Maffia were not very PC I'm afraid.
Pal of mine from work will eventually form an all-Irish ladies team, think she should call it "the Bernadettes" really

Topsy
Nov 14 2005, 3:23 pm
ah, she was telling me the other day that she's decided to calm down a bit and turn square, though
so maybe she'll be going PC at the same time
there's a first time for everything...

"Revenge of the bogtrotters" was in the running as a team name I believe.
Katrina
Nov 14 2005, 3:26 pm
To be sure, SiM, to be sure...
Although yes "revenge of the bogtrotters", "IRA Cell Munich", "Pimp My Spud" and "BegorrahBejesusBlarneyBogmen" were mentioned.
Yeti
Nov 14 2005, 3:26 pm

just for the occasion:
Paddy Irishman was the most intelligent man in Ireland. He was the president of the Irish branch of Mensa, had won a million pounds on who wants to be a millionaire, and was Professor of astrophysics at the Paddy Institute of Technology. One day he was in the pub (as Irishmen do) and his mates were telling him that he should appear on Mastermind, the quiz where the most intelligent men on the planet, show their superior brain power. So he filled in the forms and sure enough was called up, and over to London he went to appear on the show. The moment came when he was called up to the chair, to be questioned.
"Paddy, what is your specialist subject?"
"Irish History"
"Paddy your minute starts now. Who was the leader of the
Irish Revolution?"
"Pass"
"In what year was the revolution?"
"Pass"
"How many men died during the Easter Revolution?"
"Pass"
"What was the name of the British informer who helped
the rebels?"
"Pass"
All of a sudden his friend stood up in the audience and roared "Good man Paddy, tell the fucking English nothing!"
Topsy

Name, rank and serial number SIM. That's all you're obliged to reveal. Unless of course they offer you beer. Then you can reveal all.

Well obviously I'd agree with that MTV (but you might not if you ever see his VDub van).
@Katrina - how many are you still looking for on "your"

I think I've done the easy job of convincing butterbean to show up tonight.

Excellent. My first quiz and a lot of fun it was too.
Learned a lot as well. For example, I have no idea how to spell Britain. By Britain I mean that place which begins with an M and ends with an O and has lots of people called José Maria Tequila Sanchez living in it. Britain. Also it turns out that TT tough guy, Parnell is a closet "Sex and the City" fan. Who knew? And as for using boats to plug dykes, I mean really, that's just being silly now.
Great fun. Thanks to my team mates for carrying me through it. Yeti, you're a lot smarter than you look. SiM, you still look like Rincewind. Parnell, "Sex and the City"? Really?
Katrina
