Monday night pub quiz at The Arc

My arm has been twisted and I will be there tonight.

How did you guys do? I was unable to make it due to a sick little one.

3rd. Topsy and showem won as usual

Not as usual. First time in over a month.

Topsy and Showem and Greg and UpQuark, for the record. The Y chromosomes do make the occasional contribution to the team.

Is the quiz still on next Monday?

There's a bit of clash with some rugby match.
I know it's only rugby union, not proper rugby, but people still seem to want to watch it
Will there be room for us both?

Topsy and I are in the market for a fourth- showem and greg will not be there. We've recruited a third, but still one man down.

Since I am always team-jumping, if you don't find anyone I will sneak in.

You can normally get away with arriving before 8

I usually get there around 8:00. It gets underway around 8:15. I will be there this evening.

Is the quiz finished for the summer or why is it no longer on the calendar?

The Quiz is still on. We use the Pub listings (on front page of Toytown) to advertize our events.

I am going to drop by tonight but not until after the quiz has started. Looking forward to getting out and meeting some new people. I shouldn't be hard to spot as I will be the latino girl with a North Dakota accent, stands out nicely, eh?

I had to name our team "Where the hell is Drivinwest?" cuz a certain member did not show up as was promised by bucket and we were seriously short of one brain, thanks to the missing person.

Funny, the team I did not join when asked ended up winning last night.

Bit of an exaggeration there Roots. One WHOLE brain? One 3/4 brain, at best.

We're going to keep the quiz going all through summer if interest remains as it is...

We're onto a good thing with it, so why stop?

You better. It is one of the only two TT events I usually attend per week. Please don't take it away from me. I wouldn't know what I would do on Monday evenings without my quiz.

Just turn up, there are always people floating around who will join a team.

there were two 2-person teams there last night, in fact - there are always people floating around looking for teams and dr matt will help you out with teaming up if you haven't sorted yourselves out before the start. he's v friendly and helpful.

only one point split the top 3 teams (there was a tie-break for second place)

we came second, if only we'd got linda ronstadt

We were in with a shout until the damn music round, I think we only got 6 on that, and finished up about 4 behind the winners!

we were travelling very well as well until the music round in which we only got 4.

i swear that "we built this city on rock and roll" was sung by starship who were called starship at the time and not Jefferson Starship. completely screwed me up

the music that we get is generally biased toward rock, i have to say, which i don't tend to buy, personally, so i am usually rubbish at the music round, anyway

But that version of "The Killers" did not sound like them, and I saw them in concert
