pub quiz! Would anyone be interested in making up a team?

Wombat,
you don't need a full team just to come along, there are always teams looking for people to make up the numbers.

Just a reminder to let you know that the Quiz is on as usual in
the Arc tonight at 8pm. Everyone is welcome and even if you don't have a team and want to take part then come along anyway as there are always places available on existing teams or else enough singles to make up a new team.
Hope to see you there,
Dazza.

you can always pick up a few extra team players in the pub just beforehand as well.

Thanks to everyone that showed up last night and sorry that things were a little chaotic seeing as people had to share picture quizzes and we ran out of paper but I wasn't prepared for so many people. That was the largest attendance ever at the quiz. There were 18 teams taking part last night and over €120 up for grabs.

Yeah, that flag round was tough. Too much so I think. I wonder who guessed the most flags right?
I thought a fun round might be advertising slogans, if you're looking for suggestions. Or classical music.
SleeplessInMunich
Nov 20 2007, 11:00 am
Actually there were a quite few teams that all the flags correct or at least 10 or 11 right. The fact that they were in alphabetical order made it a lot easier.
Uncle Nick
Nov 20 2007, 4:26 pm
We got all 12 right.

More people had problems with the music round last night than with the picture round.

Nov 20 2007, 8:45 pm
Guess I need to brush up on my flags then. The music round was also very tough. In fact, our team of 3 couldn't get ONE song from the first bunch of 6. We were clueless. Just wasn't our night.

We're always doin quite well with the picture and music rounds...but I still have to widen my knowledge in Dazza music aka indi grunge stuff by downloa...erm buying some cds...

Seeing as I have had a few calls for a music round with classical music, is there anybody that could lend me a "Now that's what I call classical" type CD for a week to put together a round.
Bavaroo
Nov 21 2007, 12:16 pm
hmm classical might be a bit hard though... the songs have to be recognizable...not some stravinski or else..

Well thats why I want "Best of" type collection because to be honest I wouldn't be able to name themself (being the uncultured person that I am).

speak to me about classical music.
I may not have a "best of ..." album, but I have enough to help you put something together.

Naming pieces and composers would be a lot easier for me than naming flags. I've got plenty of classical music but no 'best of' collection type sets.

If the crowds are anything like last week then I would suggest getting there early to get a seat. Just make sure to leave me a table and chair though.
I guess I should make it clear but although the team size of 4 isn't strictly enforced if you choose to play with more than 4 then you are not eligable to win the first prize (cash).

Just a quick reminder to let you know that the quiz is on as usual tonight in
the Arc. Everyone one is welcome and even if you don't have a team you can still show up as there are always places available. The prize money is only up for grabs to teams with 4 or less people. If you win with more than 4 people then you automatically get 2nd prize.
Hope to see you later,

Another good turnout last night so thanks to everyone that showed up. Next Monday will be the last quiz of 2007 before we take a 2 week break over the Christmas holiday. I reckon there will be a few questions related to xmas and maybe even a music round to match. Hope to see you there next week, otherwise the quiz will be back on January 7th.

Thanks to everyone that showed up last night and I hoped you enjoyed yourselves. The last team on my score sheet ceratinly came up with an inventive and funny name. I can see that being quite popular as teams try to out do each other to come up with the best name

See you again on January 7th.

Hi Liutaia,
a pub quiz is a quiz that takes place in a pub. Pretty simple really. Anyone can show up and take part. It's fun.
Pub quizzes are a largely British phenomenon. I guess they haven't reached Nova Scotia yet?
See
Wikipedia - Pub quiz for more.

I think everyone is getting a bit too good at the backwards music rounds. Time to pull out some obscure stuff. And who would have thought that it makes no difference in which direction a Bee Gees song is played, it still sounds the same!

Are all the questions at least asked in English (not to give any particular nationality an advantage, but at least then I might stand a chance) ?
