Hair rock was great - singalongtastic. Shame there were no points for getting the songs only (Warrant and Skid Row - arggggg, but could we sing them? Oh yeah).
People who do not smile to Kiss songs need slapping as a general rule.

music round was the crappest i've ever heard
chock-full of songs that i would rush to turn off if they came on the radio
i'm quite proud of the fact that i only knew 2 of them, really
still, the rest of the quiz was good

Oh dear. Must be a shame that the quiz was not geared to your tastes eh Topsy? You need to suck up to SiM more on your trips to work...

i had high hopes, but it was all bon jovi, def lepperd, whitesnake kind of stuff - utter tosh, in other words

Whitesnake are notable for one reason - when you meet a 19 year old bird, you can remind yourself that that "Here I Go Again" was in the charts whilst they were still being breast-fed.
Good for perspective.

There's nothing worse than having your record (yep vinyl) & CD collection examined as if it was a museum collection. Freebird Picture Disk anyone?

Bah. We made a strong start but slipped up badly in the picture round and the "music" round was nothing short of a disaster. 80s hair rock FFS. What a load of shite.

Ach well, that's the way it goes. Some times the rounds suit and sometimes they don't. Next weeks quiz will be the last before the Christmas break.

Also as there was a 4-2-1 to a 1-2-4. Shouldn't there be a Bottom 3 to a Top 3 question?
SleeplessInMunich

True, but its a lot harder to come up with the bottom three things in most lists.

Hi everyone, just a quick reminder that tonights quiz wil be the last one before the Christmas break. There will be no quiz next Monday Dec 25th. I could possibly do one on the 1st of Jan if there were enough people around that are interested playing. Otherwise the next quiz would be on Jan 8th.
Please post or tell me if you might be around on the 1st and whether you would consider doing the quiz or not.
As usual for all newbies or anyone else that is interested but doesn't have team, don't let that put you off. Just come on down before 8:00 and we will set you up or alternatively just post here tha you are looking for a team and see if you get any takers.
Hope to see you later,
SIM.

I'll be here on the 1st Jan and wouldn't mind doing the quiz.
You could have a special hangover theme for the New Year's Day quiz

Our team will be eating homemade mince pies and Christmas Cake. Should be called 5 Gold Rings (of Arc-burger-yumness) or something because we're a 5 this week (well, it isn't like we are actually going to win but we will sing while we're losing instead).

koubiak, I've got a fair bit out of the way so I should be able to make it. Might be a bit late though. If you can, grab another couple of teammates (our resident "expert" on US issues is absent tonight) and enter our team. I'm sure it'll all work out!

Just a quick reminder to let you know that the quiz is on tonight, so whether you are a regular or a newbie just put your thinking cap on and come on down to the Arc.
Even if you don't have a team you can always come along and find one on the night.
Hope to see you there later.

No weapons, but Oscar dresses and fashion?

It's a pub quiz and I bet ya there was, is and will be more weapons seen in a pubs worldwide, than fashion or even Oscar dresses! Apart of that, we guys would rather know, which cable we need to cut to stop a sowjet SS20 from detonating, than what colour Scarlett Johanson's last years oscar dress was (or if she even wore one...)! The quiz needs stay at fair!

You could have a system where all teams have to select one round as an "opt out", before it starts, which won't count on a final score, sort of anti-joker.

I like the questions where you can actually learn something if you didn't know the answer already. Which is cool because that means I like most of the questions. Even when you lose, you still win.. if you know what I mean. More dinosaurs! N'stuff!
Knowing what colour someones dress was at some celebrity masturbatory gathering would be equivalent in the interesting charts to knowing what someone had for breakfast imho.
