Don't forget that next Monday is the last quiz before we take a break for the world cup.
We'll be doing double money, so
The Arc will match what's in the pot.
Hope to see you there

Don't forget - tonight is double money night. We'll be matching the money in the pot.
It's also the last quiz for a few weeks as we take a break for the World Cup

Speaking of, does anyone have room on their team tonight for a reasonably intelligent American? (American = totally ignorant of all cricket or rugby questions. Not so bad at geography as many of my fellows, though.)
I want to come out, but I can't rally any of my friends to join me tonight.
Showem
Jun 5 2006, 3:35 pm
Cinzia, if you head down, you usually can find a team to wangle your way onto. If you haven't already received a tonne of PMs.

Thanks, Showem. Unfortunately, I'm not as popular as all that, but I have gotten a couple of friendly responses.
There are two of us now, so maybe it'll be us collecting individuals. Don't have a team? Come on down!

Don't know their Toytown names, but the winning team was called something like "56 blue." I was told the name was inspired by their burger order number!
Showem et al won second place, meal vouchers.
Nobody won the extra sooper-dooper jackpot, whatever that's called. It will be 90 euro next time, I think they said.
Thanks to my team-mates Uncle Nick, wahoo, and bern for a good time! Yum - Grape!

We missed 3rd place by two points. The Tuatha Dé Danann we were.
Seriously though, for those of you who weren't there last night here's an unbelievable factoid. An average healthy person produces 1.4L of saliva every day!

That's a whole lot of gob.
Interesting as well that other interwebby sources say 500ml

I think it was "84 Blue" and it was from the meal ticket. I believe they are all the shy retiring type and wouldn't want to make a big deal out of getting 1st place.

Just need to say that the other team members were by far the major contributors last night, I was just lucky to end up on their team. I would give them a roll call but don't know their TT handles. As I said I am just a supporting player.

Hello everyone,
I'm Strawberry from TT.
Tonight I wanna go to
the Arc again with a nice friend. She's just started to work since the beginning of this year. Her German is perfect, though she still needs to improve her English for the business use. Neither of us is a frequent visitor to the Arc, so we know nearly nobody. It would be embarrassing if we go there alone.
Any TTer wanna play there tonight? If so, may we join your team? I had to admit that I was a bad player in the last winter. Wish you wouldn't mind. As non native speakers we don't know much about the European history etc. But both of us would like to learn something from this kind of game.
We plan to go there at about 8:30 pm. If you're gonna be there, please PM me.
Thanks in advance.

quiz starts at 8pm, so maybe you should plan to get there by then?
