I plan to quiz tonight - my last Arc Pub Quiz (but hopefully not foreverrrrrr). Will need to jump on a team. So hopefully someone has a spare spot for me.

I'll be there, pretending to answer questions and harking back to the "Grandmaster Flash" incident !
one could also bring up the Great Snowflake Scandal of 05.

Despite the rest of this thread, Team Bicker won. Amazingly.
Thanks to Exile and Daisy for being referees in the team.

Creative tension works. Great team effort and I won't even mention those tiny islands...doh!.
SleeplessInMunich
May 23 2006, 7:42 am
Creative tension doesn't always work...at least not on our team where we lost 2 points because our "leader" wouldn't accept that I knew a tuba in the visual round...
Well done btw.
Topsy
May 23 2006, 7:48 am
yes, SiM did know one out of 12 in the visual round...

silly me for not listening to him

May 23 2006, 7:49 am
Creative tension my foot, you only won because you're a bunch of Eurotragic Rubbernecking Abba fans. Oh, that and the lovely ruled paper. Congratulations on mastering the art of keeping the lettters within the boxes.

Jealousy will bring you nothing but my scorn.
First album I ever bought was ABBA "Arrival", well my mum gave me the money and I handed it over in Woolworths to the till lady.

We had such a lovely tasteful name as well. To ensure success at the quiz you need a good name, it's worth at least a gazillion extra points.

Hooray for Barrel of Nipples! Thanks for making my last quiz a good one team.
(we really should have won that jackpot question)
Now... on to that poll...

@Katrina, I think Topsy may be willing to trade now seeing as I didn't help that much where as Yeti is winner.

I see a transfer market developing.
SleeplessInMunich
May 23 2006, 9:11 am
Aye, Topsy is a bit like her hero Alex Ferguson and cuts you loose if you question her judgement

I'll be on a free transfer next week
She was was fit to kill me when she thought we had already played the joker, but instead we saved for a round where we knew nothing...
Topsy
May 23 2006, 9:15 am
yeah, we should have played the joker on sports or joggers, really
that was our downfall
that and the visual round
fourth place, though

our worst ever result

will we ever live it down?

May 23 2006, 9:23 am
Don't worry Tops, we'll be back to redeem the team soon enough.
Yeti
May 23 2006, 9:31 am
Your problem, Topsy, is that you don't take the quiz serious enough.

May 23 2006, 9:37 am

May 23 2006, 9:44 am
I thought you were only doing it to keep young SiM off the streets ?
SleeplessInMunich
May 23 2006, 10:11 am
Yep, I'm back on the streets now after the poor result last night, until somebody else takes pity on me and accepts me on their team...
Topsy
May 23 2006, 10:12 am
i might just give you one last chance, SiM

Chin up SiM, i think an Oirish Huuligans Support Group is being set up for next week.

Yeah, pity on all of ya! We ruled yesterday! Became 5th, won nothing, no beer or shots round... wait a minute... OK, no we didn't rule, but was only two of us anyway! If it wouldn't have been for that stupid "Wissenecke" crap...
It was fun watching the quiz yesterday (and playing darts). I hope I will be able to join a team next time. I might be good at answering the German questions...
Yeti
May 23 2006, 1:45 pm
Did you notice the way darts aren't allowed while the quiz is on ? Apparently there have been a number of inter-team "incidents". Which is why a full complement of 4 members is important, you need at least one person left over who can write.

Are you going tonight ? Or are the "we're just in it for a laugh really" team keeping you in the lineup ?
SleeplessInMunich
May 29 2006, 2:22 pm
I'm going tonight and I have been dumped by the fun loving crowd because I was too serious last week
Topsy
May 29 2006, 2:23 pm

you've only been dumped temporarily, SiM
I reserve the right to reclaim my rightful place as pen-hogger on your team in the not too distant future
Yeti
May 29 2006, 2:24 pm
You gotta loosen up man, get a answer wrong every now and then.
Anyway if you're free toinight we could get a team together "The hairy and the scary" or something along those lines.
SleeplessInMunich
May 29 2006, 2:31 pm
Are you on your own? There are currently 3 of us.
But otherwise we could do next week?
Yeti
May 29 2006, 2:34 pm
3 of you ? I knew that the beard had some darker function.
Currently yes I'm on my own looking for a team, don't want to join your crowd. Apparently ye take it way too serious, like.
Tara
May 29 2006, 2:35 pm
Ah come on Yeti, We can be the all-Irish crew.
EDIT: Except that I don't know who the fourth is

Yeti
May 29 2006, 2:39 pm
Sorry Tara, I think I have been nabbed by an international crew.
However I remember the last time we had an all-Irish gang, it was way too serious. Worth repeating though, it will have to be next week.

Mr Yeti is excellent on a quiz team. "Creative tension" is also key. I doubt fate will smile so kindly as last week (an entire ABBA round was a fine and noble thing).
