Summer Beergarden tour, Every Thursday evening from 19.30h onwards

Connect - The English Speakers Cultural Club - is an international circle for casual conversation in English. People who attend Connect are either expatriates living in Berlin who would like to speak their native tongue at least every once in a while, or Germans who have been living abroad for some time and want to maintain their English speaking skills, or just people who are interested in speaking English.

Whether you are new in town, or have been living in Berlin for a while , this is a great place to meet interesting people of all ages and from all walks of life. We meet every Thursday - in summer at a different beer garden, beach bar or other open air place - during the indoor season at a pub.

Loved the Weinbrunnen, great venue! Be warned though, they only serve wine, no beer. But one can take along one's own food and I spied lots of yummy picnics, cheeses of all sorts, etc.

We will be sitting at the back, i.e. the park side. I'll get there early to try and reserve places, look out for the "Connect" signs on the table. There is public viewing football, so it might be quite full. But, the more the merrier !

Yaaay, we were able to reserve a table for 20 (on the Hasenheide side) from 19h30 onwards. They said that they will somehow fit us in inside if it rains. HOWEVER, it would be nice if a few people would turn up relatively punctually as it is going to be hard to "defend" the big table with the crowds watching football tomorrow.

Pfefferberg has public viewing. As I'm sure you all already know, Germany is playing in the quarterfinals tonight, kick off at 20:45, so it's going to be packed!

This week I won't embarrass myself, or anyone else, by asking "who's playing?"

Well, I personally haven't been there before, but Katja, who is our beergarden whizz has, so I presume that there must be a beergarden section. Just look out for an English-speaking crowd making lots of noise and drinking beer There should be a few CONNECT signs on the tables as well.
