OK, I've PM'd Archie to get details. Let's wait and see how many other people want to go on the 2 weekends, then I'll sort it out. I've checked Ischgl for the wekeend after and there's accommodation left, but haven't checked Kaprun for this w/e yet...
Anyone who knows how to ski will know that skiing isn't cheap.
Costs depends on whether we go for a day or stay overnight (Guest Houses aren't cheap in any resort, say
€35 in town and maybe €25 out of town). And we'd be likely to stay 2 nights and most places don't let you take a room just for one night, as they can fill it with longer-stay visitors and make more money. Also means you are there in the morning to get onto the runs before the crowds.
Then it depends if you have your own gear, and if not then if you want to do the Sport Scheck rental deal (€ 10 for whole weekend but that's only on the 3rd Dec w/e, not this one). Normally ski gear (for beginners' short skis, recommended) would be
€15 per day, going up to €25 for VIP gear.
The ski pass depends on where we go, say
€35 per day but less for beginners as you'll spend at least half a day on foot in theory.
Transport will be cheaper per head if some people offer their company cars with free fuel, if not reckon on about [B€ 10[/B] fuel costs.
If you take the Sport Scheck bus trip, you can only go for a day but save the accommodation fee... and of course the aprés ski ... which is the only reson to go skiing, really
So basically the transport and ski pass are the only things you can't control. You can choose whether to stay overnight, and you can borrow or buy second hand ski gear to save there.
