Hello there!
Our charity organisation 'NCL-Stiftung' needs helpers to organise our tombola (or raffle) stand during 'Harley Days', June 20-22 at Heiligengeistfeld (U-Bahn Feldstraße or St.Pauli).
We are a small team dedicated to find a cure against rare Batten disease (Latin: NCL- Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis). It's a juvenile disease with first symptomps appearing at age 4-6, leading to child's blindness and then gradual degradation of body's physical and mental functions and eventually death at age 25.
Our organization is engaged in providing information about NCL, supporting related researches and fundraising. We can't afford to pay for your help and therefore looking for volunteers. We communicate in English, so knowledge of German is not so important.

I have a general interest in your charity organisation 'NCL-Stiftung'. I would be willing to offer my services as a Art Therapist as a volunteer, I have worked with disabled children and their carers. How do I approach your charity in regards to this work?

Thanx for reply, I think Anna (girl who coordinates this event) will contact you or already have contacted.
I have just started this job at NCL and learn a lot of new things about this fatal illness. I had no idea, for example, that NCL sick kids, when they gradually loose ability to talk and express themselves, they slide into depression and darkness. It looks like no one in medical comunity doing anything about it, which is pretty sad and I can only imagine how parents deal with the situation.
I don't know much about art therapy, but I'm sure if you present some information about your work, it will be interesting for us to know and see whether it's applicable.
