Pretty much as the title says, I want to buy a Zippo lighter (the cast metal, flip top variety that burns petrol or paraffin or whatever) for a friend and have it engraved today, somewhere in the city centre or thereabouts. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Go to the little tobacco shop in Stachus, beside the underground entrance to Kaufhof I think it is. They have a good selection of Zippos. If you're down the other end of the centre of town there's a good tobacco shop in Tal across the road from Kare which sells them as well. Then just go to the nearest jeweller you can find to get the engraving done. Job oxo.

I know people who have done this for gifts in the UK. They just went to a jewellery store that offers engravings on rings etc. and had it done there. Might be worth going in and asking (unless someone has more conrete information )

there is a Mister Minit in Kaufhof Marienplatz (on the 2nd floor near the Service Center) they can do 'same-day' engravings if you get there sharpish.

To complete this thread properly: I went to the Stachus shopping centre and found an engraving store (near the Justizpalast exit) which sold Zippos and did the engraving straight off. Good work too, hand written. Thanks again for the info.
