We are looking in to IVF pregnancy and we did a search on these forums and found the kinderwunsch zentrum. Does anyone have any experience on this clinic and how they are rated here in Munich?...
Since we haven't done IVF before could anyone tell us how much the IVF procedure approximately cost??
Katrina
Have used Berg, Lesoline et al as endocrine gynaecologists and found them to be excellent, no idea about their IVF costs as have never used them for that, wouldn't that be dependent on your insurer? Some may be covered and you should contact them first.
Good luck whatever you choose.

I just had my last visit to this place
Zentrum für Reproduktionsmedizin München

These guys (Drs. Brückner, Bollmann and Noss) are really good. They are located on Tal (right off Marienplatz).
Although, if I were to pick a different doctor (of the three), I would choose Brückner - he has a better manner with people and is much more forthcoming with information.

This place runs like a finely tuned engine. Most of the staff speak excellent English (nurses, receptionists, everyone).
We know two other couples that went to them and both of them had success the first time (both have a set of twins now) and we are pregnant with just one (we only put one egg back in because we most definitely DID NOT want twins) - and it also worked on the first try for us.

If you are publicly insured and married, the insurance usually covers about 50% of the costs. If you are privately insured AND married, it's covered 100%. If you are unmarried, it's not covered at all.

Costs: About 4000€ (or less) per attempt plus the drugs (around 1200€). The first attempt will cost the most. But, if you retrieve several eggs, they can be frozen for later attempts (which will save you money because you don't have to have so many drugs and all the doctor's visits as you did the first time around).

I know it sounds really easy and for us, and our friends, it was easy.

Good luck and if you want more info, please pm me.

Thanks!
Even though we planned it, it was still such a shock. I was literally paralyzed with fear when I got the results back!

Oh, the other thing about this practice...they have a secure online portal so you can see your test results online in the afternoon. How weird to find out that you're pregnant online. But, it saves the hassle of phoning them up for the results and having to go to a conference room and find privacy to do so.
