Is anyone currently using the Vodafone DSL All-Inclusive-Paket for Euro: 29.95, and if so, what is your experience? Just want to make sure that there aren't any teething problems with this package as often can be with new offers etc, esp on the Internet side.

Am thinking of changing from my current T-Com Surf & Comfort which is costing Euro:34.95 without telephone flatrate.

Would welcome thoughts, experiences etc.

Cheers smile.gif

If I understood good - you have first 4 months free than you pay full price (depending on speed you choose). Catch is in small letters - you have internet flat rate only for first 3 months and than you pay per Mb.

Anyway, read thoroughly again.

Thanks for pointing out the Internet flatrate offer only for the first 3 months Diego 1111 - v. important piece of info which I didn't know, and they didn't tell me either ohmy.gif .

I'll read the small print!

Cheers!
ASIM
Package is as follows:
Internet & echte Telefon flat
Endlos surfen mit DSL und endlos telefonieren ins deutsche Festnetz
Down-/Upstream bis 16.128/800 Kbps

So günstig telefonieren Sie
Deutsches Festnetz 0 Ct/Min
Ausland ab 4,5 Ct/Min
Mobilfunk ab 19 Ct/Min
(Jeweils außer Sonderrufnummern)

Its totally flat and for 1st 4 months its totally free & then 29,95(6 MB) & 35,95 (16 MB) per month with 24 months contract

I guess you're right. As I said I suggested reading, I got short look at small letters part and thought I saw this 'after tree months 3 cent/Mb'...

But than neither my English nor my Deutsch are good. smile.gif

Help!!! I'm about to sign up for Vodafone DSL all-in but don't quite understand the following small print:

"Entsprechend der Paketausgestaltung fallen für die Nutzung (Telefonie oder Internet) weitere Kosten entsprechend der Preislisten (bis max. 0,03 Euro/MB für Datenübertragung und 0,22 Euro/Min. für nat. Standardgespräche) an. "

I've seen this mentioned above in the thread, but what exactly does it mean?? Can anyone help??!

Also, isn't the current offer for 6 months free? and a EUR 50 credit (thereby halving the EUR 99 one-off fee)?
dom
No -either 6months free OR 4 months free plus 50 euros credit.
Which offer you get depends on how you got to the webpage from vodafone!
deep_schismic
Ah yeah, that's fair enough.

Also, from what I read regarding the 99 EUR one-off fee, it says that it's waived.."entfällt"
dom
OK, I've signed up! If anyone's interested, I'll post here how things go with the service.
deep_schismic
Yeah I've signed up also (for the 6 months free and free WLAN modem)...hit a snag in that we didn't see the drop-down menu to actually select the WLAN option instead of the standard, so spoke to Customer Service..they said it's not going to be a problem..we just have to send the standard modem back and they will send the WLAN modem. I found it a bit crap that they couldn't actually edit the order to just send the correct modem..as our date of completion is given around 8 September!

dom, how many weeks did they tell u it will be till ur up and running? In my case, we're getting a new phone line

talking bout new signing up and since i got alice as a provider and we can always cancel our subscription in a month time, i decided to try out kabel deutschland. man they got great offer with 30Mb/2Mb priced at around 35€. I applied for a new line and not a takeover of my old number, cause i dont wanna have a gap in my internet connection. It's still unclear too whether my flat got the rückkanalkabel so it might be a no go...so perhaps ill got charged twice in a period, but it's okay, cause no internet sucks...ill see to it too whether the connection working well or not for a few days, if not, cancel it not then back to alice hehe...i hope my plan works well...

Getting your old number does not mean delay. They provide you with other phone number for the mean time.
Silvestre
lol how? even logically thinking is enough to see that it isnt possible...
i cancel my alice subscription->shut down of the telephone port there will be nothing there...no number at all
and then u wouldnt know if ur house has the cable capability. coverage is ofc there but the cable in ur house might not be the compatible one (u'd need to ask a major tv cable overhauling to the landlord so that cable internet is possible, if that's the case)
so we end up: no fon, no dsl, no cable...even the best scenario is hard to realise...i mean: okay cable conn is going to be installed but is it gonna be installed right on the day your dsl is shut down?

it might be not like that somewhere else, but in here they really don't care bout the customers...and even more when ure leaving them haha. they apply their strictness even on such things. for example: "o youre cancelling your contract, then here's the date of your shut down", said one provider. While the other provider ure changing to said:"o were gonna get u connected on this day, so please be patient, and btw thats the fastest we can connect you". what about the day between? since it's nobody's damn, so there will be nix in the time inbetween...

haha sorry for the rant...i do hate how they treat their customers here...
Krieg
Well, first you should not have canceled your old provider yourself, there is a form you fill up and give to KD, then they cancel the thing for you and get control of your old number. In the mean time while you will need a number so KD provides you another one you can use while your old number is moved.

Of course you need to know if cable can be installed at all in your new house.

If you do not plan the things properly of course you are going to be offline for a while.
Silvestre
hmm pls read my exp with moving from arcor to telecom and then finally to alice, in which i filled that number takeover form...they didnt do it like that...first arcor told me that it'd be shut down on the 1st of july...they somehow kept me connected till 2nd of july. meanwhile, tcom shud have been connected on the 1st of july. i didnt notice i was still on arcor. and then suddenly on the 3rd, i lost them all...fon and dsl. no tcom no arcor. asked tcom, they only cared to say that i should have been connected and i was asked to check how i wrote in my login username and pass in the router instead. finally asked arcor, they said 1st of july is the end of the contract but the port is going to be shut down technically on the 8th haha...eat that! so a week of no conn...and GOD even tcom knew nothing bout it. see what i mean bout the service?

haha what is there to plan? you only need to submit the form and you cant really plan anything in this. they do it all...regarding the cabling im my flat, well, the only way to know whether the cable is okay for the internet cable would be to let the KD engineer take a look at it, since i doubt my landlord would know anything bout it.

well, all in all, i think this plan of mine is the best...
deep_schismic
good luck with ur plan silvestre..but really all you can do is be patient. unfortunately the way it is here is if you are not getting phone/DSL with telekom then they really don't feel it's in their interest to speed-along things in the ways of getting your new line.

also if you want to continue ranting about Alice and other providers, then maybe you can continue to do so on the relevant thread...(this thread is about experiences with the Vodafone DSL service for example)

They have told me beginning of October. We will take our old number with us and this actually HELPS speeding up the process because ONLY THEN does Vodafone seem (willingly) to organise the cancelling of you previous provider on your behalf.
deep_schismic
Have you been able to check the status of your Auftrag online from the MeinDSL section? Everytime I enter my details it just keeps saying incorrect details, etc..a bit annoying really..
deep_schismic
Wow, I got my confirmation in the post today...on Monday the Telekom tech is supposed to come by and turn on my connection...the only crap part is the window is given as 8am-4pm...they really expect people to take a day off for them?? ah well...still awaiting the arrival of the modem though..
deep_schismic
Wow that was downright simple! I am up and running!! The Telekom guy came by to test the TAE point and the line downstairs..said 'Alles in Ordnung' and that the connection would be active by 3.30PM!

The only challenge I have now is how to enable the Sprach-Anschluss (VOIP) using the T-Com Speedport W 500V router. Can anyone help me with this?...this is because my original hardware order was stuffed (got sent a wired modem only) and I'm still waiting for the WLAN one to arrive..

I do have to point out that Vodafone's customer service is a bit of a lottery...different people say different things..i.e. some are stupid know-nothings who spew bullcrap, and others know how to do their job...the guy we just spoke to needed to put us on hold about 5 times and spew the same crap over and over (with us reiterating over and over again) that we were supposed to get a free WLAN modem..but eventually we got there smile.gif...now I just have to wait for the modem to arrive in the post!

In the meantime, gotta figure out how to activate the VOIP service on this other modem..
dom
so far so good...have received the easybox, and online says I should get connected sometime next week. Fingers crossed.

As far as reputation for the service goes, don't forget that Vodafone have a strong link to Arcor which has a shit reputation! However, the advertising campaign (a few months' ago) made a big deal of their strong service committment... One thing is for sure: if you never need to call the service, you'll be okay no matter which provider. Sorry you missed the w-lan modem -hope it gets sorted out.
deep_schismic
Got my EasyBox A601 in the mail today...took 2 minutes to activate my Phone connection and that's it..I'm cruising at 16.5Mbps. And the router firmware can be used in English..double sweet!
deep_schismic
So where can I find Vodafone's international call rates for the DSL Telefon? I know its 'von 4.5 cent/min', but I'd like to get a rate table..I am also aware of their EUR 3.95 fee to get flatrate international calls for like 30 countries, which is great..but at the moment I just need to make a couple of calls back home! I wasn't able to find it anywhere on the Vodafone website, and the help wasn't of much use either!
dom
am also up and running! no problems with installation and activation!
The individual prices can be best found in the "AGV" (small print) link on the website (at the bottom of the page).
deep_schismic
Well, the first hiccup today...DSL has been non-functioning as of this morning...seems like the line is dead..no DSL light...i didn't think i'd get to experience the joys of Tech support so soon... dry.gif
dom
oh, that's bad news...well, keep us informed, looks like this post will keep going longer than anticipated! huh.gif
deep_schismic
Well surprisingly the tech support were able to do their job...ran a line test to confirm that there was a fault with the line (Telekom related), and that it would probably fixed within 24-48hours...was back up and running this evening..
